I was unable to see Elisa today.
Fuck.
I didn't go to the meeting this morning.
I was not in the right condition.
I told you, I'm pretty sick right now.
At one point I heard someone knock on my door.
"Yes Rachel you can come in." I said, already knowing it was her.
And so it was.
Inside came a smiling Rachel.
More than usual.
"Come on talk, why are you so..."
"Sam, I found a little person wandering around the corridors looking for your room!" She told me, winking, letting in... Elisa! Oh God!
"Well guys I'm going." Rachel said at one point, giving us a smile and then disappearing behind the door.
"Hi Elisa! What are you doing here?" I asked smiling.
I was too happy.
Really, you know the seventh heaven?
"Hi Samuel, I wanted to see how you were doing. You know yesterday... I saw that you were very sick and today you didn't come, so... here I am!" She said laughing.
"Oh and also: "the others and I were very worried." She told me, marking the quotes on the last words.
Oops.
Had she really noticed?
I went red.
"I... ehmmm" I tried to answer.
"Don't worry, I'm not angry! On the contrary, I was very pleased with your visit the other day!" She said laughing.
What a great laugh.
"Oh but go, it's the minimum. Thanks to you for coming today."
"I know it may be a trivial question but... how do you feel?"
"Much better than yesterday, the treatments are having some effect and I'm happy, at least for a few days I'm calm. The doctors told me that in general I also have to try not to lose control, but for me it's difficult... very difficult and... sorry I'm taking too long... "
But why do I always have to screw it up?
"SAMUEL! What are you saying? I was interested in your speech! During the meetings you don't speak and I am glad that you are opening up to me in this way, for anything in any case you know that you can talk to me, really. Go on!" She said looking me straight in the eye.
"Thank you very much but... I don't continue, I was already wrong a minute ago. But I promise you, one day I'll try to tell you."
"Okay, I'll wait with pleasure." She smiled back at me.
This is absurd.
How long have I known her?
Three days, maybe four.
But I don't know... It's like I feel I can trust her.
And it's a wonderful feeling.
