"You can't kill that giant from the outside. It's technically impossible." Leon raised his finger as he discussed with us his ideas on how to kill the giants.
"Then how are we supposed to take that shit down?" I asked.
"Destroy it," He replied as he smashed his fist and palm, along with a furious expression etched on his face. "I've been secretly observing how they are making the giant." When I first understood what they were doing, I was amazed and also terrified. It's a mixed-up emotion." He shook his head off and proceeded with his discussion. "Anyway, the only part of that Robo-giant that is left uncovered by kuishinbos is its bottom or butt part. I also saw scientists coming in and out from it."
"And you're saying that we'll get inside them through that?" Sylve butted in as her arms crossed with her right eyebrow raised.
"Yes."
"It's very unconvincing, Leon. It could be a suicide."
"I know, but it's just my suggestion. I don't really have any idea to take down those two giants aside from that." He bowed and scraped his head, "Sorry."
I patted both of their ideas and replied, "It's a pretty feasible idea, I might say."
"What?" Sylve shouted as she spread his arms with a questioning look on her face, "Are you seriously thinking of doing that?"
I shrugged my shoulders as I curled the bottom part of my lip, "Well, I mean, it's not like we have any other choice, do we?"
Sylve scratched her head and scoffed, "Ughh, and then what?"
Leon resumed his explanation, "Once you made it through the giant's butt, you'll find a door which will lead you to a vast control room. From then onwards, I'm not really sure what to do, but I do have a vague idea."
I narrowed my eyes with my arms crossed. "What is it?" I replied. I was once a car company owner. One of the world's best cars in particular. Hearing something about robots and stuff thrills me.
"Inside the control room, I believe you can actually control the giant by breaching the system."
"Do you know the password?"
"Of course..." Sylve and I stared at each other while are our eyebrows are raised, "No."
I grinned, "Of course you don't. That's pretty much expected."
"But, what I do know is the password to enter the control room."
"What do you mean?"
"Obviously, you can't just enter the door; even with the strength of a charlander, the door cannot be destroyed. Fortunately, I happened to decode the password by chance." He somehow fixed his posture and leaned closer towards us. "It's unnecessary to explain how did I do that, so let's just get on with it."
With her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised, Sylve butted in. "So, what's the password?"
Leon smirked, "For the Rotmouth, the password is R071420H. For the Alpha, the password is A021403A."
I see, so the numbers probably signify dates. But what date?
Leon somehow noticed my curious look as he smiled at me and said, "Well, the inventors of the two giants are pretty narcissistic, so yeah, if you know what I mean."
"Aha! I see." I snapped my fingers upon realizing.
"Anyway, that's the only password I know, so I guess we just need to take chances to figure the system's password."
"That's good enough," I replied.
Leon took a deep sigh, "I don't really want to say this, but what I know is that if you input the wrong password three times, the system will automatically self-destruct."
Of course, that's to be expected. "I see, that's good enough," I replied as I nod in agreement.
And to my surprise, Sylve was holding down her chin as she nods her head. "So, the point is, even if we don't know the password, we can still take that thing down."
"Yes."
"At least we have an assurance that that thing can still be destroyed," She then took a deep breath, "I'm a Charlander, so that won't be a problem. But how about you, Vander?" She shifted her glance at me. I smiled at her and replied, "Don't worry, I might decode the password or even breach the system."
I know I acted confidently, but the chances of me inputting the correct password are nearly zero. Although near zero is not entirely zero. So I guess there's a little hope.
"Okay, we'll do it." Sylve, who was leaning against the wall, suddenly walked towards me and patted my shoulders. "Are you ready?"
I smiled confidently, "I will survive, don't worry."
"It is your life. We're gambling here. Are you sure you will do it?" She glanced at me with a worried expression. Her eyes were so clear, and so her words are piercing through my heart. I felt nothing but sincerity and care.
I chortled. "Of course, I know what I'm doing. I won't be so confident if I don't have anything to back it."
She nodded while flashing a half-smile, "Yeah, yeah."
*Narrators POV*
Vander was straightly catapulted to the rump part of the Rotmouth. Surprisingly, as Leon described, no kuishinbos could get near it since the materials used to build that specific piece is coated by high-quality ashes.
Vander took a deep sigh and started moving. He inputted the password Leon mentioned. He was pretty nervous at first, but seeing how the door opened because of the password Leon gave to them, he was somehow allayed. As soon as Vander entered, the lights in the system room automatically opened, and an AI voice suddenly spoke, saying, "Welcome." It was somehow surprising for him, but he had already expected that level of technology.
The control room is well illuminated and prim. Although he was already expecting the technology, he never expected this sophistication of the interior as if it was designed to be a hotel rather than a destructive machine.
Vander then scratched and shook his head off, realizing how arrogant and confident he was after seeing the perplexing number of keys in the control panel. A cinema-like screen is also in front, allowing him to see what the giant sees. "It's bloody," that's what he thought. Soldiers are crushed, thrown, and slashed even with the most subtle movement of the giants. After seeing such horrific sight, he pulled himself back. He thought he shouldn't waste any more time. Because every minute that passes by, several hundreds of soldiers die. With that in mind, Vander started to execute his personal plan. From his pocket, he grabbed a hard disk that he borrowed from Sylve. With his hands holding it, he brought it up, right in front of his face, and closed his eyes, saying, "Oh god, please work."
"X's POV"
After General Wilkin's order, I've been moving from here and there to observe Syldenn's movement. "They should be moving by now."
Right now, I'm in the tallest post specially designed for me to look over the town. Clouds are covering my entire body so no one can actually see me.
Fortunately, there is no significant movement from Sylden aside from a few spies I have killed and some drones around 6 or 8 miles above sea level I have destroyed along the way. It's almost unnoticeable, but because of my ability to spread my necros, I can detect things within an 8-mile radius beyond, above, or below my position while concealing my presence. This is possible through materializing my necros to camouflage my entire body. It's a complicated process, but it helped me become the scout ninja of AXE, a particular unit under General Wilkins specializing in conducting espionage, assassinating, and information gathering missions.
"Looks like the Lumiere City is handling the giant well. Besides, the barrier is no joke." I thought.
There's nothing strange in my current area, so I decided to move a bit far from Lumiere City. As I traverse the wastelands near, I sensed a large group of soldiers travelling at an extremely high speed from the direction of the City of Sylden's location.
It would be good if these soldiers will help us out, but it doesn't feel like it, considering they are from Syldenn. With that, I decided to get closer to them by teleporting in a spot where they can't see me. Oh, in case I didn't mention, I can teleport anywhere within my radius. I can also find an excellent spot to hide like a rock, or a tree and such. My mind works like a radar, so I can track any obstacle, object, or basically anything with at least a 6-inch height.
I closed my eyes to focus on detecting the soldiers' movements while finding the perfect spot to hide while doing so. Although teleporting consumes a lot of necro and soul power, I won't be engaging in any combat, so I guess it'll be fine.
After teleporting, I found myself crouching in a branch of a tall tree. The leaves of the tree are plenty enough for me to remain stealthy.
"The drones are destroyed. So we don't know what's happening yet." A soldier near me spoke as the army continued to march forward. He was referring to another soldier beside him.
"Yeah, I heard it was destroyed by a ninja."
"What? That's insane. The ninja must be pretty good to be able to detect that. Its camouflage is on par with Caxlon's."
"Then, why are we heading out if the drones are destroyed. We don't even know if the giants have already destroyed them."
"Silly! A weak city like Lumiere won't last long against the giants."
He scratched his head, "Oh yeah, you're right!"
I continued to jump stealthily from one tree to another to follow and eavesdrop on the soldiers' conversation.
"Hey, Porter, I wasn't in the right mind earlier, so I couldn't understand what the captain saying was. What is it again?"
Porter sighed, "Well, apparently, we will appear as if we're trying to help them. Of course, we will help them at first to make it realistic to spread the news that Sylden helped Lumiere. But while we were helping them, we will be killing their soldiers one by one."
He screeched off his face, "Geez, that's nasty."
"I know, I feel bad for doing that, but we have no choice; we're just following orders."
"Why do we have to pretend we're helping them?"
"I'm not sure, but I think it's just for publicity. Y'know, to make it appear like we're following the international laws. It's illegal to engage a war against a city." He shrugged his shoulders, "Regardless, even if other cities know what we're doing, none of them can go against us anyway."
"Well, that's true."
The things that I've heard from their conversation shocked the shit of me that I lost my composure and rushed to get back to the city.
After hearing their conversation, I realized two things. One, no matter what, we shouldn't let these soldiers in. Second, we have to defeat the giants as fast as possible to eliminate their reason for helping us, which will eventually become their alibi for slaughtering the entire city.
"But do they have that power of killing all of us in the first place?" I asked myself.
"Well, what do you think?"
A man's voice suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and after hearing that, the last thing I knew is that I'm on the ground with almost my entire bones shattered.
