LUCIA'S POV
It was past 3 am when I woke up to change Ely's apparel. Everyone is still sleeping when I went out of my room.
My eyes were all open caused by the bulb lights in the living room. The balcony is open and thinking that who would dare to spend the night at the terrace.
The glass doors opened. while drinking my water I walk closer to the veranda to see if someone is in there.
"Lourie?" I ask when I saw her standing at the edge of the railings while sipping a glass of wine.
"Hey," she mumbled still looking at the led lights of the city. I stand beside her and put my hand at the banisters.
"Can't sleep?" I ask.
"Sort of?" She responded.
"Sort of? Hmm, why?"
"I'm just afraid to lose the case I'm handling right now." Lourie retorted while forging her finger at the wine glass.
"You won't lose the case, sometimes we just need to trust ourselves." I cheer her up, she smiled and leans closer, and places her head on my shoulder.
We remained like that for a couple of moments while were looking at the led lights that besiege the whole city.
After that, we decided to go back inside to continue the rest hours we still have.
The entire morning was still new to me but I'm trying to adjust.
It's been 2 years since I moved in here and end up my connections to Leo.
I can't say that I'm fully healed, yet I'm not sure if I'm ready to forgive Leo even though he didn't ask for it. Keeping the pain in my chest will propel my feelings, harder and harder.
When I arrived on the campus I notice that every space in the parking lot is fully occupied. The only slot you'll see is the edge of the end lines before the entrance.
Everyone is noisy when I entered the campus and saw the designs in every department I passed by.
Nearby the cafeteria is the sports booth, where every student can take a picture. Their fan athletes and crush athletes are allowed to take photos with them too.
Students were wearing their civilian attire while walking through the alley. I was hesitant to walk through because I can sense that they are staring at me.
Without any further ado, I went closer to the glass doors to see if there's a student inside the classroom.
I heard they were all going to the gym to watch the sports game and to cheer everyone.
Students who joined the sports competition are more happier and nervous at the same time. Sadly, all officers called for an urgent meeting to conduct the prayer.
Before the competition, everyone is allowed to finish their school stuff. Fiona is one of the team leaders of the cheer dance.
Furthermore, she's one of the representatives of our university. We had a few talks about the inter-high and rules that we all have to follow when the game begins.
I was assigned to help those 3rd-year students to create the costumes and attires that will use.
It was a tiring workshop but we all do it in just hours. My gaze was caught by a man who stands in front of the glass doors.
He was watching every move I do and that bothered me at all. I'm not used to this, that someone is watching all my actions and every little move he catches it.
"What do you want?" I ask raising my eyebrows.
He put his hands inside his pocket and stood up in a manly way like I was talking to the handsome statue.
"I was passing by and then I saw you here designing the attires and costumes that we will use." Elton answer in a calm way.
I was a bit shock when he said the last words. Well I know he has a background in competing in pageants but I didn't expect him to join this upcoming pageant.
"You joined the pageant?" I ask him to assure that he meant all that he just said.
He simply nodded and point my forehead with a reason. I can't speak nor push him away and slapped him, or am I acting too much.
"Silly girl." he uttered and left me speechless. Elton wave his hands while walking away from me.
"The hell is happening?" my mind trailed off uttering those words.
I went back to continue my work when I notice that they're watching us from the start and didn't even notice it. Embarrassment is killing me softly!
When we finished our designs everyone was ready to watch the game.
Everyone had their own cheering notes and songs except me. I don't watch a game barely but sometimes if I'm bored I found myself cheering those athletes.
Yelling every single word is fun until you'll have your bias. The dance room was all clear so was the entire building of engineering and architecture.
Abm students are also busy, preparing those foods and maintaining the deal budgets. All althletes and visitors.
The game went well, our university had the highest score in volleyball and so on. I found myself in the auditorium where I can see those candidates having their rehearsal.
Some of them notice me entering the room and some were busy doing their walking routine.
Before the rehearsal started they had a few talks about the pageant. My eyes went to familiar vision and knowing that he's also looking at me! makes me feel nervous.
I'm walking towards the backstage to talk to Nina and ask her about the designs of attires and costumes.
I'm not just the designer here, I'm also one of the instructors who doesn't if know how to handle rehearsals.
Lmao.
When I reach the backstage, Nina was busy arranging those candidates from their numbers.
Their partners were all handsome and tall, I must say I can't reach them all. I went closer to her so I could ask her about the attires and costume sizes.
"Nina," I uttered. She was still busy fixing those candidates and put them in the right place where their numbers are.
"Lucy, what is it?" she then asks when she notices my voice.
"I just want to ask about their sizes we might go to the mall to buy high heels for them." I explained while we were walking through the auditorium tables.
"Ohhh, the sizes and attires will be finalized tomorrow morning. As for now, we were all having a struggle in your representative on the department of engineering." She explained her concerns.
"Actually, I have no say about that because that was their decision and not mine," I answered.
"Well, you have point about that. The least we can do is train her more until she had the confidence to walk through the aisle." she said while we were both walking closer to the glass doors.
"So I'll go ahead and I'll see if I can help you fixed those messes." uttered in a small tone of voice.
Nina nodded and kissed my cheeks before I leave the auditorium room. I heard her co-trainers, ask about what we've just talked about and why am I here.
My life is so busy and didn't bother to listen to their rants in life.
After talking to Nina, I decide to go home and have some bond with my daughter. I walked aimlessly towards the parking lot then I felt someone grab my hand.
Surprised, I let go of the bag in my hands, leaving my things on the floor entangled with one another.
"Ouch!" I groan in pain.
"Im sorry." He apologized.
"I didn't mean to pulled you, its just that a car is passing by and you were at the center of the road." Elton explained while pointing the road.
I picked up all my things and put it inside in my bag before i went closer to my car. Seeing him here made my heart trumbull. As fast as I can I started the car and drove away.
When arrived to our unit, I change my clothes and went to my baby Ely. I showered her kisses and she giggled.
The rest of the evening is good until we all fall to sleep and everything we've been through right now is part of today and not tomorrow.
I hug Ely so she can sleep at peace while Im still here staring at her cute face.
"I know I already said this, but I just want to repeat it." its a whisper.
"I dont regret having you in my life." I uttered and for the last time I kissed her cute forehead before I went to my sleep.
