Chapter 6 - Chapter Six:The Deal

I looked up at him, Dean and he gave me a big grin. I stood up abruptly and like stepped back. I have a fictional character in my apartment and I have him tied up on my bed. The thought made me blush now but as it hit me, so did the other realization.

"Wait.. if you are real, then so is the... witch... which means that this place is in danger if you don't stop her. Oh god! And I'm here, holding you back when all you are trying to do is catch her! I'm so sorry... here, hold on."

I run and grab a knife from the kitchen and start cutting the rope off from his wrists. I get them off, putting the knife back as he gets up rather quickly and searches his pockets of his jacket. I figured he was looking for his weapons and I go to the closet, grabbing them and I hand them to him one by one. This is Dean Winchester! The character who has a record of screwing up and selfishly acting for himself and then wrecking things in his wake. Before his last knife reached his hands, I pulled it away and he looked at me frowning in confusion.

"I have a proposal... more of a command actually."

My straight stance and emotionless face returns as I hold the knife away from him. This man may be fiction, but he is still an asshole in my book and I am not going to let him go off without knowing for sure that he is going to leave my world without wrecking it.

"Once you found the witch and kill it before it endangers my people, you have to promise to go back to your world immediately. This world doesn't need any more corruption than it already has with idiots like you in it."

"Trust me, I don't want to be here longer than I need to be. You have my word on that."

"Well your word is all I can get isn't it? So... good, once you are gone I can get back to my own life and you can go back to... whatever you call what you have."

I hand him his knife and as he takes it, putting it back in his boot, he whistles.

"Wow, I can tell you are a great fan of the show I'm in. Is it too scary for ya, is that it?"

"Huh, try too stupid. I would rather have monsters than have to deal with characters that are too self absorbed that they can't think for the greater good."

I don't know what it was that I said, but something hit Dean deeper than it should have and the look he gave me made my hair stand up.

"You- what's your name?"

"Alison Barker."

"Well, Alison Barker. You know nothing about me, got it? That show is a poor representation of what I go through every single day of my life. Until you are in my shoes, than I suggest you shut your cakehole about the 'greater good'!"

I am an incredible arguer but this man wasn't worth my breath so I just nodded and stepped back away from him. After that, he seemed to have relaxed and went back to his natural smooth talking side as fast as it had gone away. I just wanted him out of my apartment and for some reason he seemed to be hanging around longer on purpose.

"Look, I'm sorry for what I said but now that I let you go... don't you think you should be oh I don't know, trying to find the witch and killing it?"

"Well, ya see Freckles I can't go after it until it's dark. This creature doesn't know this area either, so if I get familiar with the place it will be easier for me to know where the witch is. You, on the other hand do know the place so... I was thinking you could help me out a little so that way we can get out of each others hair as quickly as possible. So, sound like a deal?"

Dean reached out his hand, with one of his eyebrows up in question as I ponder my decision. I don't really want to be around this guy any more than I have to be but I also don't want the witch here creating havoc and danger any longer than needed either. I sigh, knowing what I had to do as I shook his hand locking in the deal.

"Okay but first, there needs to be ground rules in order for this to work. One, my name is Alison, not Freckles. Two, we cannot get anyone else involved because the less people who know about this the better. And third, you cannot let the police get involved. My job position right now needs a... boost and if something goes wrong, I don't want it to make my station look bad, and I definitely don't want them to know about you. Got it?"

"Ooh, trying to prove yourself to your police buddies huh?"

"I mean more my chief- wait, how do you know I'm a police officer?"

"Trust me, I've been in this business long enough to spot a cop a mile away... and it's not that hard to notice a cop from how they act. Especially when they wear pajamas with little badges all over them... and you keep your stance way too formal and that gun you had was an obvious station owned. I've been arrested enough times to know what they look like. How old are you anyway? You've got to be new at this or you would have called this in by now. This as in a strange man in your apartment."

"I know what you meant, and I'm 23. I started a few months ago and by the way, these pajamas are very comfortable!"

I crossed my arms over my chest, suddenly feeling self conscious about what I was wearing. I don't even know why I'm defending myself to this guy, and I lifted my chin up stubbornly.

"I'm being serious, those are my conditions and if you can't agree with them, I'm not going to help you. Simple as that."

"You really know how to push your own way, don't you"

"When you grow up on your own, ya kind of have to."

I shrug as if it were no big deal, and Dean watched me with his eyes, looking almost impressed and a hint of something I couldn't catch and I tried  not to smile too triumphantly when I knew I had won.

"So you don't want the police involved correct?"

"Yes, I'd like to keep this on the down low. The last thing I need is the officers to hold me back even more when they found out Im involved with a fictional character catching a witch. They'd just think I'm crazy and pulling their leg.. hell, I still think this is crazy..."

"Well, sorry to burst your sweet bubble but the police will get involved no matter what."

"What  do you mean?"

"Well ya see, the witch has a thing for police officers. I mean, given that's all it wants to kill.."
