Chapter 10 - Chidoriyama vs. Kitagawa Daiichi (part 1)

Our team gets off the bus and we head to the gym. Once we walk through the doors, he hear nothing but silence. I look around as everyone stares at us and find who I'm looking for, "Grand King" Oikawa Tooru.

As I stated at him, he noticed me and glanced over when our eyes met sparks flew and I quickly looked away smiling. Oikawa didn't know why I was concerned with him but soon pushed to the back of his mind. As this was happening, Kitagawa Daiichi students were walking into the viewing stands to watch.

"Is our volleyball team any good?" One of the guys asked.

"Who cares look how awesome Oikawa looks." Replied on of the girls.

"Is that the other team they were called Chidoriyama right?" One said

As the students conversed with themselves, the players were doing their stretches and warm ups. Kai could be seen setting for his team as a couple of girls noticed him.

"Who is that?"

"I'm not sure looks like a first year."

"His eyes are beautiful."

Kai also caught the eye of some of Kitagawa's team.

"That kids sets are good."

"Yea, but Oikawa made a lot of progress this year."

"Yea, there's no way he can compete with him."

"Look at that kid, is he in elementary school what's he doing on the court."

They sneered to themselves. On the other side of the court Nishinoya was pissed and sending their team a death glare.

"Don't mind it Noya we will just show them with our play." I replied cooly. Noya grunted in affirmation and we met with other team at the center of the court, and as lucky as it Amy seem I stood across Oikawa.

"Hope to have a fun game." said our captain as he shook hands with the other team captain. On that note, everyone shook hands and I gave Oikawa a disdainful smirk to rile him up.

'Oh is this guy looking down on me.' Oikawa thought as he grit his teeth and tried to smile while shaking hands.

After that we got on our respective sides and were ready to start it off. I was up first to serve and I took some deep breaths. 'Let's start off with a bang.' I thought.

After that thought the whistle blew, I threw the ball up and smacked it hard which hit the defenders arms and bounced out of bounds, scoring the first point.

"Service ace!" The other team looked at me with wide eyes. I smile and get ready for the next one, while Oikawa is surprised and looks at me. 'Oh, so he's not all talk.'

As I get the ball again I take some deep breaths to calm my emotions once more. 'I guess I'll put some backspin on it and try and surprise them again.'

I throw the ball up as the whistle sounds and hit the ball at an angle which killed some of the speed. Surprisingly the other team received it. I scowled,"Damn it, I need to work on that some more."

After the ball was in the air, Oikawa gets in position and sets it to a spiky haired person, who I know as Hajime Iwaizumi. As he goes to spike we line up our block and he hits it while we get a hand on it.

"One touch." Taigen said, as the ball floats to the back line. Araken chase it and gets it at the last second. As the ball flew through the air I look through the air and find Taigen he gives me a nod and I run up in an awkward position and get ready to set. 'Sorry Kageyama, I'm stealing your move.' I think to myself.

"From there!" Oikawa exclaims. As he said that I hit the ball and Taigen jumps for a quick. The defenders try to get there but they were just a bit slow and Taigen smashes it to the floor making the score 2-0.

From the bench, the coach shakes his head," Those boys went and made something crazy again." He could obviously tell we've done this before and it was practiced from all ends of the court.

As the scoreboard changes Oikawa looks at me and says," Your good kid, but we'll catch up."

Which honestly wouldn't surprise me the only reason we scored twice so easily was shock factor and being unexpected.

"Wow calling me kid while only being a year older that's pretty lame dude." I laugh it off as Oikawa turned red from embarrassment.

"You just wait!" He yelled.

Soon enough he calmed down which I had to hand it to him for. He was a very professional setter despite his childish tendencies.

Once we got back into position I served it once more and it was received it again," looks like they've adjusted pretty quick." I say receive but it's more like they keep it from hitting the ground it's still in awkward positions.

Oikawa got under the ball and went to set again, setting it to a third year who spiked it down scoring there first point. He shot me a shit-eating grin and I smirked. 'You scored one and your already getting ahead of yourself well we can put a stop to that.' I laughed to myself.
