"Alex-" She began when the phone rang from inside the car.
"That must be Mandrake with new information," Alex informed her and went to grab the call.
"You bastard," She noticed Alex's whole being tense as his eyes narrowed and his breathing started to increase rapidly.
"Touch them and I'll gut you like-"
"No, I will not." Cat was tired of hearing the one-sided conversation. She noticed her own breathing increase when Alex glanced at her and then away.
What? She mouthed.
Alex shook his head as his whole focus beamed in on the call.
"I'd prefer to take you out before that happens. And I'm not going to be sending her anywhere," He caustically bit out.
"Suit yourself," He scoffed and hung up.
