As Luke huffed away Cat slid on her back and let the water flow over her as she closed her eyes and drifted on the water. It could have been minutes or a few hours. It could have been days or even a few months. Enjoying the peace and utter silence, her ears dipped below the waterline and she opened her eyes to gaze up at the star-drenched night sky winking like twinkly lights at her from above.
She sighed and got out of the pool after her fingers had turned to raisins and she felt thirsty. Lounging on the deck she grabbed herself a drink from the deck bar and grabbed a towel to dry herself off. In that second, she froze as she sensed another's presence. As she surveyed the area, Cat stared into the foliage near the pool and saw Alex stepping out into the deck lights. Her eyes drank in his powerful form and beautiful face. For a minute there was no movement as emerald eyes clashed with chatoyant and the air became heavy and condensed with anticipation.
