Alex entered the house calling out for Cat. They'd been on their way back when Mandrake had called him to inform that she was back looking a little rough around the edges and a lot worn out.
Luke had taken off from the car with a hurried, "I'll grab my things and get ready while you tell Cat." Walking deeper into the house he called out for Cat once again when he noticed a shadow rush up the stairs. Trying not to startle the intruder, he slowly crept up the stairs on the other side of the landing and surprised her by catching him against his chest.
"Alex, what the hell?" Cat let out a startled gasp as he held on to her.
"Where the fuck have you been running off to, my sweet?" Alex demanded in the meanest voice he could muster up. The most devastatingly tantalizing fragrance assaulted his senses as his gaze slid down to notice that she was dressed in only a towel.
