Their lives settled into a routine. Alex went to work every morning and tried to be back for lunch most weekdays. On weekends, he took off work and spent the day with Luke, showing him the sights of New York and engaging him in his endless curiosity. Cat felt particularly attached to the same beautiful room they'd spent their...night in. But on most days and nights it was quite often haunting. She kept busy and spent her days doing the legwork for her pending cases and settling in.
Luke was also getting used to his school though which came with its own set of teething issues. He seemed restless and bored with his study material and often needed extra incentive to keep interested. Cat knew her son was brilliant and needed to be challenged like other kids needed air. She was also scared of the same old patterns like not being social and being an outcast because of her IQ that had daunted her shouldn't affect her son.
