It was late and Alex had trouble sleeping. He looked in on Luke and had just taken the chair by the bed when his son suddenly jerked awake. He was breathing hard as if he'd just run a marathon. Beads of sweat dotted his upper lip and he licked his lips, "Where's my da-Cam?"
Alex filled up a glass of water from the carafe on the bedside table and handed it over, "Do you still think about him?" Alex asked through God knows what calm. Inside he barely kept his teeth from clenching and fisting his hands.
"Don't act like that," His son sulked back.
"Like what?" Alex sighed deeply.
"He's the only one who's been there for me. Since the beginning and you told me that I could talk to you about anything," He muttered beneath his breath.
"What was that?" Alex asked as he couldn't catch the last part of his ramble.
