"Cat stays whether you like it or not. What do you want Rick?" Alex asked.
"I don't think it's wise to discuss sensitive business matters in the presence of a government liaison, however lovely she may be," Rick's eyes roved over Cat's body with such blatant shamelessness that she figured Cat'd be justified to at least just slap him. Before she said or did something rash, Cat heard Alex's low, threatening voice.
"Let's cut the crap, Rick and if you don't want to lose all your teeth, I suggest you stop ogling my- her."
"Why Alex? Is that jealousy I detect?"
"None of your damn business," Alex replied icily. "Now tell me what you want or get out of here."
"The Board is concerned about the recent controversies surrounding the company. With the stock prices falling and the media shit storm... Alas! Knight Inc. is in a lot of trouble...again," Rick's smarmy tone sounded layered over with pretend concern.
