Alex felt time running out and being threatened from all quarters it was time to sink or swim. Rick was proving to be more dangerous than he thought and Claire's murderer was roaming free. Jason and Alex had still not been able to pinpoint the motive for her death which could lead to her killer. Then there was the spy he was hunting in his own organization with Cat's help that was taking its own toll. He hadn't wanted to involve her in any kind of danger, but it had been she who'd figured out what was happening and come up with the plan. After listening to her arguments and trying to minimize the risk for her as much as possible he'd agreed to it. But now he had to deal with more potential danger threatening her.
He clenched his jaw as if bracing for an attack, "Did Cat get what she was looking for when she came to you?"
The older man hesitated. It was such a red flag that all of Alex's senses went on high alert.
