"I think that it's not over yet. You'll soon have to decide Cat," Alex murmured next to her ear as his warm breath raised goosebumps over her skin.
"Why are you telling me this now?" Cat returned exasperatedly.
"Because there'll always be danger and those who wish to hurt us for who we are," Alex's tone was unyielding.
"So?" She still didn't get it.
"You have a choice, Cat. Leave here, go save the world, complete your revenge. Or stay and build back your relationship, with your son who you've just gotten back," Alex continued with the same intensity.
"This has become the running theme in recent times, don't you think?" Cat murmured. "You presenting me with fait accompli that look like choices I have to make but are really just laws you've laid down," Cat's tenor turned sweet with sarcasm.
