As Cat and Alex took the elevator up to his penthouse he finally bit out, "Eric's here."
The atmosphere vibrated with leashed fury emanating from Alex. Though he didn't say anything else, Cat tried to calm him down by taking his hand and squeezing his fingers.
"I don't think it's me you need to be worried about," Alex gave her a surprised smirk.
"Just hear him out."
He didn't say anything in response.
"Alex..." Cat warned in a frustrating tone.
He gave a slight nod and they stepped into the hall.
"Cat, I'm so sorry about last night. I shouldn't have gotten so drunk that I wasn't able to keep track of you," Eric whined as soon as he saw Cat enter the room.
Alex gave him such a murderous look that she half expected Eric to spontaneously combust where he was standing.
