"Oh, you were having your fun, weren't you? What was it that you told me over the phone? Ah, I'm not going to negotiate. Well here's your chance."
He nodded at the goon who was holding Mia over by the side of the cliff then at Luke who was taking in the scene poised for anything. They made to go to the house and Luke followed behind docilely.
"Now you have one choice. Save her," He pointed to Cat. "Or save the kids."
He laughed and wheeled away.
Cat saw that Alex was torn and she wanted to help but as the effects of the drug grew rampant she couldn't make her body move.
Alex had come alone. Hadn't he? She had to do something. She could do something. But what?
Her brain shorted and she tried to focus as she knelt on all fours. Why the hell was she on the ground? She looked around and noticed that a single flower grew out of the harsh terrain where the land jutted out into nothingness a few feet away from her.
