"Hey grandma? Can you tell me a story?"
It was a cold and snowy evening, and there was nothing to do with everyone gone but the girl and her grandma.
'why couldn't they take me with them, I wouldn't have caused any trouble, ugh, I hate being grounded' the girl pouted.
"You should go to bed. It's late. Your parents and siblings will be home soon, and they will expect you to be in bed."
"Please just one story?" the girl begged.
"Ok, one story Chloe, then you have to go to bed ok?"
"Thanks!" Chloe was happy to have something to do since she wasn't allowed to text any of her friends'. 'grandma has the best stories!' Chloe remembered her grandmother telling her story ever since she was little.
"What story do you want?" asked the grandma.
"The story of The Lost Forest,"
"But I've told you that one so many times, you sure you want to hear that one again?"
"Of course! I love that story, it's so romantic! plus mum never tells me it."
"Ok ok, so, once upon a time, in a small village named Hanasee there lived a girl named Serai. She was about your age. And she always wanted to go into a haunted forest named The Lost Forest, for every one that went in, never came back out, at least not the same person. But Serai was never allowed to go into it, though that didn't stop her. One day Serai went into the forest and she found herself in the midst of a lovely clearing, with beautiful tall grass. And in the heart of the clearing was a tall, beautiful young man, with long, blond hair and long elf-like ears, and beautiful light green eyes, and he had a bow on his back with a bundle of arrows. Serai knew she should be afraid, but for some reason, she did not run, she felt somehow drawn to him. As he saw her he immediately pulled out his bow and arrows and aimed at her in shock, but she stayed where she was oddly calm.
"You're not frightened?" the man stuttered in shock.
"Why would I be?" asked Serai.
The man paused for a bit before responding.
"Well most humans run away when they see someone of my kind," said the man. Serai looked at him with confusion
"what do you mean you're kind, aren't you human too?" said Serai.
"No, of course not! I would never be one of those wretched creatures!" the man said.
"Than what are you?" Serai asked.
"Why do you want to know?" The man asked, getting closer to Serai.
"I-I'm just curious" Serai stuttered. The man paused for a moment before responding.
"Well, I'm an elf. Of the forest clan" The man finally said.
"Is their more than one kind of clan?" asked Serai,
"Well yes, there is the desert clan, forest clan, lake clan, and mountain clan. Why would YOU want to know?" he asked.
"Well, I just wanted to know sorry if I'm annoying you" replied Serai.
"I guess it's fine, I'm just surprised that a human is interested," the elf told her, finally putting his bow away.
"well I should probably get going, it's getting late. it was nice meeting you though!" Serai said as she started to walk off.
"Bye," Serai waved as she ran out of the forest.
"Hey, wait!" Serai heard a voice behind her as she was running.
"Huh?"
"I-I, well, I didn't get your name!" the elf stuttered.
"Oh, it's Serai" she replied with a smile.
"My names Lunar," he said happily,
"well it was nice meeting you Lunar, I hope I see you again sometime!" replied Serai.
"yea, same," said lunar.
Serai returned home still thinking about the elf she met in the forest.
"Hey mom"
"hey Hunny when were you?" asked Serai's mom, Leesa.
"Oh I just went for a walk" Serai knew she couldn't tell her mom that she went into the forest, her mom would kill her!
"well, foods ready if you want it," her mom told her,
"no, I'm not hungry. I'll be in my room" Serai said
"ok Hunny, make sure you eat something before you go to sleep though"
"I will." 'he's so nice!' Serai said to herself 'I can't wait to go back!'.
