I, kim , belonged to strict Asian household.
Being the youngest son of the family, I was naturally spoiled. My two over protective brothers were the reason I was able to face my parents after I came out of the closet.
The social stigma I thought I would have to face, wasn't as bad with my family by my side.
But it was a different story for Aki, then 23 yrs.
His family.....they were religions type and the one to concerned about their social status above Aki's happiness.
That being the case, coming out was more than a little hard for him.
The time he spent after with his family was either them trying to convince Aki to be normal or them just straight out fighting over it.
I wasn't pretty, living with them.
So after a big fight, he decided to just leave for good.
He then moved to an apartment close to our university. It was about 15 mins from my place so I would invite him over often. But when our vacation started I knew I had to do something to cheer him up, after all what he was going through was my fault to some extend.
Not that he blamed me, he always kept his hardships to himself. But even when he said nothing, I felt guilty. If I hadn't fallen for him...if we didn't fell in Love back then... Then maybe Aki could have led a normal life. He would have been able to keep his family happy.
I really felt guilty that I loved him and wouldn't be able to provide him with what he deserved....
That was the main reason why is agreed, when Aki invited me for the trip.
Aki would always say how he wanted to take me for some of his trip. He said it was really fun, and that I would love it ... the scenery of the jungle with cool clear water running through it, the view as they reached the top looking down on the setting sun.
And the jungle nights, busy with the sound of nocturnal animals and the cold wind blowing through the trees...
After I take those in account, maybe they contributed in me agreeing for it.
Aki was really happy and excited about it, after all it was the first time I had agreed to it.
