Chapter 1 - A bizarre letter

The day was coming to an end and the setting sun cast a reddish glow on the surroundings. Part of it fell on the balcony dyeing it with a reddish glow and on it stood a boy about 11-12 years old.Together with the boys ruby eyes and Auburn hair, it gave him an ethereal look. He was looking at a letter that had just been delivered by an owl.

It was a strange one. Strange, not because it had a seal he never saw before but due to the simple reason that it was brought by an owl that too when it was not dark yet.

the wax seal looked oddly familiar but he wasn't sure where he had seen it before. It looked like a coat of arms that was divided into four parts, to the top left was a lion with a red background, top right a snake with a green background, bottom left a badger with a yellow background, bottom right an eagle with a blue background and to to top it of a huge H in the very centre.

Noah then turned the letter to see that it was actually addressed to him. it read

TO NOAH EVANS,

2nd floor bedroom,

3rd street , potter lane

GODRICS HALLOW.

It surprised him once more that it was actually addressed to him. He wasn't great socially so he didn't really have friends. There was always something strange going around him and others could feel it as if on instincts. So not many got close to him and those who did didn't stay long due to his awkward social communication skills.

There was this one time when a bunch of kids a few years older than him tried to bully him since he was all alone in the school grounds and drove home to a corner. He was terrified then and closed his eyes. But then he noticed that even after a few seconds passed there was no pain, then he also realised that he couldn't hear them too. when he opened his eyes he found that he was back inside his empty classroom. He was bewildered but chose not to think about it since he couldn't find out what happened nor could he do it again.

He opened the letter and it read:

HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF

WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Headmaster:

Albus wolfric Brian Dumbledore

(order of Merlin 1st class, Grand Sorc. Supreme Mugwump, chief Warlock, international confederation of wizards)

Dear mr Evan's,

we are happy to inform you that you have been admitted to the Hogwarts school of

Witchcraft and Wizardry. A staff of the said

school shall visit your home to clear your

doubts and explain your situation. On the letter enclosed within is a list of supplies necessary for your term at school.

the term will begin on 1st September 1992 you are expected to gather all the supplies by then

yours sincerely,

Minerva Mcgonagall

Deputy headmistress

He quickly caught on to the key words 'witchcraft' , 'wizardry' and 'school'. His thoughts quickly ran wild and thought whether it was a school that taught real magic. He quickly crushed those wandering thoughts and looked for more information.

He looked at the other parchment mentioned in the letter. If Noah was to describe all of it in a word it would be bizarre. There were wands, couldrons and books with word names.

At first he thought it was a prank, but on second thought no one would go to such an extent just to prank someone. He was totally confused by the turn of events. In the end he took the 'wait and see approach'. It was mentioned that someone would explain the situation to him anyway or so he thought.

He was deep in his thoughts when his mother call interrupted him. " Noah hurry up lunch is getting cold " .

" coming mom, I'll be right there" to avoid getting into unnecessary trouble he rushed down stairs and found both his parents already half way through their lunch. He quickly took a seat to spend a few moments with his parents before they get busy with their work .

" darling, are you sure you don't want to celebrate your birthday with your friends" mom asked in a concerned voice. Noah immediately refuted " No mom I am not a child anymore, I don't celebrate birthdays. "

He didn't want his parents to know that he died have any friends. They had a hunch that he had very few friends but they were slightly off the mark. Today was July 21st of the year 1992 and he had turned 11 today. 'I hope that I can make some friends this year' thought Noah as he left the dinning room at the end of the lunch.

" Remember, this Saturday we'll be visiting a relative of ours " reminded my mother from behind me as I returned to my room. Noah's family was a well to do family, a two story house and a balcony were a benefit of that.

His mother was a kind woman and also a homemaker. She was Emily Evan's , while his father was William Evan's. They were noce people who loved him dearly, although his father was somewhat stiff and had trouble expressing his feelings. All in all he loved them dearly.

Once he returned to his room he once again went through his list. At that time he couldn't help but recall some mysterious phenomena that happened to him. Once he had walked over his mother's vegetable garden and damaged a plant precious to his mother. He was scarred of his mother's anger and tried to place it together and wished it would be alright. He knew it was pointless but he tried never the less. later he was surprised to find out it was fixed.

Extremely curious he tried breaking another plant , this time a wild one and tried again but it didn't work this time. Since the miracle he didn't work again no matter how much he tried, so he put it at the back of his head and forgot about it. Thinking about it now it was strange indeed.

That night he prayed to all the gods he knew hoping the letter wasn't a prank and was legit. That night was a sleepless one for Noah
