Chereads / Eclipse: Showdown of Assassins / Chapter 105 - Chapter 104 - The Ultimate Weapon

Chapter 105 - Chapter 104 - The Ultimate Weapon

Indica held an umbrella as he walked through the halls. The dripping of blood on top was the only thing heard as he walked through the halls before coming to a stop at the ring entrance. He stared at the match with a smile.

Indica: He hasn't lost his touch! Gary is still the ultimate weapon!

Indica clenched his fist, adorned with a wide smile. He stared at Gary who had yet to move a single step from his starting position.

Indica: With Gary, I should be able to take over the Eclipse and bring all of these assassins under my control. Both criminals and not, I'll become the most powerful man in America!

Indica closed his umbrella and slammed the tip into the puddle of blood in front of him. His expression calmed as he looked back at the ring.

Indica: If I wish to be, that is. Instead, increasing the American police force will be more important. Though, it'll be a shame to have to feed many of these poor souls to Gary's bloodlust. I know the Imperium fighters would never stand for my rule, but the rest seem like the perfect guinea pigs!

Gary noticed Indica out of the corner of his eye, but he ignored him and looked back to Gonzalez. Gonzalez returned to his feet, rubbing his side to feel the blood coat his hand.

Gonzalez's thoughts: The cut is hardly enough to hamper me, but he did it somehow. Did he cut me with his finger? The fact he can bend in nearly any direction could really make that possible…

Gonzalez placed both opened hands in front of him, letting out a sigh as his ears twitched. Shooting off the ground once again, he ran directly towards Gary, whose own arms stayed entirely still before Gonzalez reached a certain distance. No one could see Gary's arm move, no one other than Gonzalez. Feeling the movements in the air and hearing the slightest of moments in Gary's body, Gonzalez dodged Gary's first strike, running even further to the side as Gary's second arm moved. Gonzalez had ran to a point where both arms crossed one another, leaving both in each other's way. Gonzalez charged directly for Gary only to feel something grab onto his shoulder and swing him into the air before being slammed into the ground, dust flying into the air as the audience screamed in horror. Below Gonzalez was a crater, cracks surrounding his body. Jason, who had returned to the audience, watched closely.

Jason: I get it.

Lorisian: What jump didst thee receiveth, sire?

Jason: Despite Gonzalez's attempt to tangle up Gary's arm a bit, Gary's arm was able to bend further than ninety degrees past the elbow at a crazy speed. No one could've expected that. Gonzalez likely felt it coming at the last second, but not much he could've done at that moment. Unless he gets his act together, Gary is going to murder him.

Gonzalez pushed himself up from his crater, blood dripping from his lip. Gary's expression still remained unchanged, only closing his eyes to let out a sigh.

Gary: I must thank you for running to me plenty of times, but I am growing rather bored of just waiting for you to recover. Allow me to bring the fight to you, dear Gonzalez.

Having finally moved his feet since entering, Gary slowly moved towards Gonzalez. Gonzalez couldn't see him directly, but all he could feel was an impending evil that moved closer and closer.

Gonzalez's thoughts: What is this guy's bloodlust? I've never met anyone like him before. Theodore says Brook is as bad as you can get, but what about this guy?

Gonzalez's body twitched, forcing him to jump out of the way as something quickly slammed into the spot he was once in. He landed on a spot before having to duck, noticing something extremely quick fly overhead. A piercing feeling hit his chest, sending Gonzalez flying back and into the ring wall. Jason and Lorisian's heads perked up, noticing something wrong with the situation. Theodore and Carrie watched the match from a monitor, same as Remy, Angel, and Mike. All the fighters noticed something unnatural about the match.

Everyone's thoughts: Gonzalez is on the losing end?

Gonzalez fell to one knee, Gary moving forward at his usual slow pace. Gonzalez's chest had a bright red mark, blood dripping around it. His breathing was uneven.

Gonzalez's thoughts: That was fast! Too fast! Spencer wasn't even close to this. Are there any fighters like this?

Thoughts clouded his mind, Gary feeling something welling up in himself. From Gary's own eyes, he was simply walking down a graveyard. An unfinished grave in front of him, a corpse sitting in front of it.

Gary's thoughts: I will finish this job. You've felt fear, so your life ends here. Let this be a reminder.

Gary's hand shot out, aiming directly for Gonzalez's head, only for it to be deflected upwards. Gary's eyes shook momentarily, pulling back his arm. Gonzalez got yanked forward as well, Gary finally noticing that Gonzalez had grabbed onto his arm after deflecting it. Before Gary could prepare his next attack, Gonzalez let go of Gary's arm, flying directly towards him and punching him across the jaw. Gary flew with the punch, the attack sending both fighters to the ground.

Zenzo: I don't even know how to explain what's going on before me!

Zachary: These fighters are unlike any we've seen before. I can't even begin to understand their fighting methods!

Gonzalez pushed himself back up to his feet, looking over to Gary who was entirely laid out.

Indica: NO! GARY, GET BACK UP! YOU CAN'T LOSE YOUR VICTIM LIKE THIS!

Gonzalez turned to Indica, something burning in him before noticing that Gary had changed. Whipping his head back around, he noticed the unnatural and inhuman way that Gary stood back up. His body convulsed and twisted until only his legs moved to bring Gary's entire body back up to his feet. His left arm wrapped around his body as his right hand rubbed his bruised left cheek.

Gary: That was magnificent, dear Gonzalez. I was worried that you would never live up to be the prey I hoped you were. This truly makes me happy. Sososososo happy.

Gonzalez raised both of his hands in front of himself once more. He controlled his breathing, his mind calming itself down.

Gonzalez: I was worried I wouldn't live up to my standards too.

Gonzalez's thoughts: I almost forgot my training there, right?

Two sets of fists flying into the air, disrupting this peaceful night in the Virtus Imperium. Gonzalez's body was covered in sweat, moving as quickly as he could before one punch to the face sent him sliding back. He picked himself back up from the ground, a strong muscled woman with a tired looking expression on her face handing him a towel.

Gonzalez: It looks like you're still just one step ahead of me, aren't you Sonia?

Sonia: I guess I am, but that's only natural. I am the leader of our sector, after all.

Gonzalez: Yeah yeah, the Black Owls are a great bunch, aren't they?

The Black Owls, an infiltration, close-quarters combat sector of the Imperium's inner military. Their level of skill is considered top class across the entire world, with the leader being the woman Sonia Morozov, the general of the Black Owls.

Sonia: We need to be the greatest for this country, and despite how great your senses are, you're still lacking something.

Gonzalez: Yeah, I'm not strong enough.

Sonia: That isn't it, idiot.

Sonia swung a chop down on Gonzalez's head, Gonzalez catching it effortlessly. He was adorned with his velvet blindfold, something Sonia noticed immediately.

Sonia: The King gave you that because he knew you were loyal to this country. Many of us weren't even born here, yet we aren't treated any different because of it. Each sector treats their members like family. You're just like one of us, Gonzalez.

Gonzalez: That came out of nowhere.

Sonia: It did, but it's to prove that you can't settle for what you have now. You lack a strong enough conviction, a passion.

Gonzalez: C'mon, Sonia. You know I'm giving it my best.

Sonia: But you aren't. You're still leaving your mind clouded. You got hurt in that little match of yours when I know you could've won without a single injury.

Gonzalez stayed silent before letting out a sigh. He stood up, placing the towel around his neck, wiping the sides of his face.

Gonzalez: You're right. I just need to clear my mind of the past. That does remind me.

Gonzalez turned to face Sonia, who's tired expression never went away.

Gonzalez: Are you really sure you don't want to enter these matches? I think you'd be able to pass my rank pretty quickly.

Sonia: I should really punch you for that comment. I hate that whole fighting ring idea, I'm not here to play kiddy games. I just want to punch you and Theodore a lot when you guys mention it.

Gonzalez: Haha, my bad. Well, we should meet up with Eve. She's like the only nurse that's awake at this hour.

Sonia: Sure, that's the only reason why you want to go.

Gonzalez: If you weren't the general, I'd totally tell you to shut up right now.
