>POV: Scarlett <
I started walking down the hall with half wet hair and an aura to kill. Pi looked at me nervously probably thinking I've finally lost my mind and now everyone is gonna die. Well he wouldn't be wrong since somebody is definetly gonna die when I call headquarters about my plan. You see Iraq has a serious problem with terrorism and the U.S army being stationed here is making us a target. So when something like this happens and KEVA decides to steal our supplies that's an act of war. We have every right to hit them back after that and no one can say a thing about it. So my plan is to track the supplies to their hideout since they're implemented with trackers on it. Go there with my soldiers and finally take them out for good, but in case this may not be the heart of the organization. I'll have to take them into interrogation to see who's behind this.
"Pi you said headquarters is on the phone. Why don't you tell squad 1a and 3b to get their gear ready." I said excitedly.
Now Pi looked really concerned "Are you sure this is a good idea? What if something happens to you and the team? You can't call for back up out there."
I sighed, this guy has a heart of gold doesn't he? " Don't worry I've never not been fine. How many times have I survived some crazy near death experience?" I laughed. Pi only gave me a look saying 'that's exactly my point'. "Ughh, don't be a downer I promise you nobody will get anything worse than a bullet wound." At least that's what I thought could only be the worse.
-------‐------ 4 hours later, at 20:00 hours---------
We were rounding the corner of the building. I signaled the men behind me to wait on my signal for clear entry. I looked back and gave a thumbs up to he sniper on the opposite building. After a couple of seconds they gave me a thumbs up in return, and I turned around to give the 'clear' signal to my men. We headed forward as silently as possible (which mind you was not all that silent). To the door in front of us the team split into two groups on opposite sides of the entrance. I signaled '1,2,3' then busted down the door. Inside were some very shocked men carrying heavy ammo and body armor, our body armor that came from our supplies.
We bursted in taking them by surprise. One terrorist fired a shot and he was taken down first. I knocked out the man in front of me (for interrogational purposes). Another guy rushed at me with a combat knife, so I twisted his wrist and delivered a knee to his diaphragm. While he was winded I swiftly hit the back of his neck knocking him out.
"Captain!" A soldier next to me called out.
"What is it?"
"There has been another group of armed men coming this way."
I nodded "Get into your positions and hold until I give the order."
"Yes, Captain"
We surrounded the building each man taking his position out of sight. We waited for several moments not one of us making a sound. Just waiting for them to round the corner and take them by surprise. Hopefully this would be the last of our problem with KEVA. Then we hears the approaching foot steps of our enemies. They were coming in silently and carefully as if they didn't believe the building was empty. They spread out carefully each taking a different path. Suddenly something almost brushed past me almost hitting me. I looked over slowly and saw a sniper pull up right beside me. I was waiting in a corner next to an open window. The gun was right beside me and the sniper slowly moving towards the opening more.
I would most certainly take the time to get rid of him right now of it was not for the other men in the room. I saw one put a bomb on one of the pillars across the room and setting up the detonator. I stayed as still as possible. I was one woman against 3 other men. One sniper, one bomber, and a very well built man right across from me. Damn this has got to be one of those moments were you're not entirely sure how you are still alive. Carefully, very carefully I grabbed a small rock by my foot and let it roll across the room. It hit the stairwell drawing the attention of the three men.
They looked at each other and the two non-sniper men slowly creeped forward. I slowly shifted my body to the window to push the sniper out of the window. But I heard a sharp whistle, the sniper shot towards the sound and I shoved him. I heard him fall from the three story build with some cracks.
'ohhhh' I mentally winced, 'that was a nasty fall'. It was surprisingly silent I thought that the other two would've come over.
"Captain" a soldier whispered. Oh my gosh that scared the crap out of me. I didn't even know that they were there. And mind you I'm usually pretty good with sensing other people around me. I was an assassin at one point.
"Soldier what's the head count?" I whispered back.
"Only twenty men are spotted in the area. What are your orders Captain?" they asked quietly.
I gave a sharp look over to the bomb strapped onto the pillar. "They've armed bombs on this floor there's no way they didn't do the same to the others. Make sure to disarm the bombs and take out anyone with a detonator. Help the others."
"Ma'am, yes, ma'am" and they rushed off to help. I crept towards the bomb slowly. 'Come on Scar you've only done this a thousand times before.' mentally cheering my self on. Very carefully I slowly took the receiving detonator off the bomb. I took my combat knife off my belt and cut the wires. Disarmed.
I sighed in relief that stuff can be stressful since it's a homemade bomb. Those guys can blow up on you unexpectedly if you think you've cut the right wire. I did not want to be a splatter piece on the wall. Eww gross. I turned around hearing a commotion in the stairwell drawing my attention. I walked towards the stairs to discover the two earlier terrorists laying in their own pool of blood.
I stepped over them feeling slightly guilty, only slightly. Walking down to the lower floor where I heard all of the commotion. There were terrorists being restrained as one of my men disarmed the bomb on their pillar. One of the men being restrained held a detonator in his hand trying to activate in. I rushed forward and twisted his wrist until I heard a crack. Well now it's definitely broken, and the man let go of the detonator while the soldier behind him muffled his yells.
"Restrain them now and get to helping the others." I ordered. Screw being quiet these guys already ruined the entire thing. Not that I can do anything about that now since I'm betting that everyone else heard that too. 'Haa' I sighed mentally hearing footsteps rushing up and down the stairs well to our level. Well if my old Commander was here he would've left us to die with our stupidity. Shame I don't have that same luxury.
The first of the terrorist to arrive were the ones coming up the stairs. All armed with silencers on our guns we shot them all not wasting anymore time than we have already. Which I suppose would seem really cruel but these guys have killed women and children. They're just as bad as that damn Joker. The next set of men were soldiers coming down to see the commotion. They all reported that so far we have gotten nine-teen men. One slippery guy left.
I sent them all out to search the grounds but still left enough men to restrain prisoners. I started helping move the restrained terrorists to a safer location.
Suddenly the radio crackled "Captain, we've got a problem. It seems that the last terrorist went under the building and we can't follow. Over."
"Pull out. We'll smoke him if we have to. Over."
"Commander! Seargent **** has been shot! Over!"
"Hold up I'm coming in!" I ran inside the building to discover that there was no one inside. "What the hell?!" I exclaimed and that was the last thing I said before the bomb delicately placed under me went off. Only blackness and the sound of my team yelling my name was only heard.
