The Willingham Academy is psyched. Who knew that Luke Creswell would be dating April Stevens, the arch-enemy of his ex, Sterling Wesley.
"Okay, they're staring at us."
Luke whispered to April, who walks with him, holding hands with him. April is also overwhelmed and she started asking herself if this is even the right thing to do. Everybody, including Ellen, stared at them, with shock. But April snapped herself and reminded herself why she's doing this. She stopped for a moment and looked at Luke. Then looked at her squad behind them. Looking proud with a smile so wide, showing how happy they are for April.
Luke just smiled at her, he's still a bit shy and adjusting to their situation.
"Woah"
April tip-toed to reach for Luke's lips. Everyone in the hallway said that word including April's squad when she kissed Luke in front of them, to make their relationship official.
"So, now everyone knows that I am with Luke, keep it to yourselves."
There's a threat in her voice. Luke looked around, a bit more uncomfortable with what April just did. He took April's hand.
"Come on babe, let's go."
April smiled at him like she wasn't threatening everyone seconds ago.
"I'll go ahead, I have golf today. So, see you at lunch?"
Luke asked April.
"Sure, babe. See you later!"
Luke was about to kiss April on her lips but April gave her right cheek, then Luke made an awkward chuckle while April just smiled at him then walked away. Luke headed for the field. The three walked together inside their classroom.
"I can't wait 'til Sterling hears about this. You, dating Luke, her ex-boyfriend."
Ezequiel whispered to Hannah B and April as they all get to their seats.
"How do you think she would feel? I mean, last time we gave her a ride because she didn't seem like she was herself. Poor Sterling"
Hannah B felt bad for Sterling. She imagined seeing how Sterling would react if she knew that Luke is now dating someone else.
"I bet she still can't move on from Luke. It will destroy her."
April can't help but keep herself shut. Ezequiel is in front of her, and Hannah B is in the back.
"What's your bet?"
Asked Ezekiel to April. She rolled her eyes at him. Of course, she already knows that Sterling is hurt. But not because of Luke dating her, but because of her, dating Luke.
"Of course she's gonna be crushed."
April used her tone of voice when she used to hate Sterling, but deep inside of her, she's endlessly sorry for Sterling.
April rolled her eyes when she saw Ruth entering the classroom and sat beside her. Everyone looked at her except for April. She doesn't like Ruth's overall aura.
Everyone watched her every move. She's like a celebrity for now, because of her style. Highcut black and white Chuck, Skirt, rolled up sleeves, wavy black hair, and chewing gum. She has a strong appeal that also makes her really interesting. Ruth took out a notebook and wrote something in it. Then she tore the piece of paper and folded it. Then slowly reached for April's desk which across her right side.
Everyone murmured when they saw it. April is puzzled by what just happened. She has no idea why Ruth did that. Ezequiel and Hannah B are both looking at her. She slowly opened the small piece of paper.
"You do not look like you like him, stop using people."
She then immediately crumpled the note and put it in her bag. Ezequiel and Hannah B are still looking at her.
"It's empty."
She said with confusion in her voice. The bell rang. Saved by the bell, April secretly looked at Ruth who's now listening to their Math teacher. Thinking who she is and who she thinks she is to tell her what to do.
"Hey!"
April jumped out of shock when Blair took her arm and brought her in a corner. She just let Blair. This is gonna be the first time they're gonna have a conversation or argument. Whatever may unfold.
"Is it true?"
Blair asked as soon as she let April's arm go. She is mad, and at the same time, she's being protective.
"What?"
April is already annoyed by how Blair asked her.
"Are you dating Luke ?!"
April looked around, she's caught off-guard. She didn't expect that Blair will really confront her about this thing. Blair is always minding her own business. Nevertheless, April needs to stick to her plans.
"Yeah. Do you have a problem with that?"
April's brows crossed. She's back to being a bitch when it comes to Wesleys.
"So that's it? 24 hours ago, you were feasting on my sister's mouth now you're with Luke !?"
April felt really nervous and scared when Blair said those words.
"Hey! You have to stop"
She whispered Blair with a threat in her voice.
"Is that a threat? You know what? Just never ever go near my sister again. Have a great life!"
Blair turned her back and walked inside the gym. April walked back to the locker.
"What was that about?"
Asked Hannah B when she came back to the locker room. They're alone.
"Nothing. Just a stupid nonsense thing."
April sat down to tie her shoes. Hannah B sat beside her.
"Are you sure? It looked like you two were arguing."
Hannah B stared at April. The latter just took a deep breath.
"Yeah, it was nothing. Just like I told you, stupid nonsense."
Hannah B kept quiet. She's just here, waiting for April to be ready to go. April groaned as she's too preoccupied to tie her own shoes.
"I'm too tired."
April broke the silence. Hannah B looked at her, feeling happy and surprised that April is opening up herself. April sat down on the floor and leaned against the lockers.
"I am so tired, to be honest. But every day I have to wear this mask on, to pretend to be someone that I'm not."
Hannah B sat next to her, also leaning against the lockers.
"Why don't you stop wearing the mask and just get out in the world, naked."
Hannah B looked at April who just chuckled.
"I'm sorry, with naked I meant transparency. J-Just being who you are."
April looked at her, with sarcasm.
"I know what you meant I'm not stupid."
Hannah B slowly nodded her head.
"Right. Right."
April quickly stood up,
"We should go. I don't want to do extra laps if we're late."
Hannah B is left inside the locker room, smiling. She felt how thankful she is to be friends with April.
"No, it's too dangerous"
Bowser disapproves for the twentieth time.
"We can handle dangerous! I mean, look at us!"
Bowser looked up at the twins. Sterling is pointing her finger gun at him while Blair is posing sexy with a lollipop in her mouth.
"You two look like a bunch of stupid kids."
Blair and Sterling groaned.
"I need you two to stay out of this skip. Okay? He's too dangerous."
Blair took the skip's mugshot at Bowser's desk.
"Ooohh, he is hot!"
She took it to the couch where Sterling is sitting with her palm on her chin. Blair showed the mugshot to Sterling.
"Oh, yeah. I think he is. Look at how masculine he is."
Bowser is shaking his head.
"See? That's how dangerous he is. He's got like a God-level appeal to women. Aside from that, he's a violent drug dealer. So, my decision is final. I don't want you two near this case."
Bowser took off, leaving the two inside the office. Blair groaned then rest her back on the couch.
"Do you think he thinks he's a dad figure now?"
Blair broke the silence between them.
"I think so. He's not risking us now, he wasn't like this before."
Sterling walked out of the office after answering Blair's question. Little did the two know, Bowser and Yolanda are working on this skip together.
"Are you sure you really don't want to hear any news about the school?"
Asked Blair while putting toppings in the yogurt.
"There you go!"
She handed the yogurt to a 40-yr old man. Sterling stopped wiping the fudge pump.
"No, Let's just talk about something else. Do you think I have other siblings? With, you know. Aunt Dana"
Sterling is shaking while mentioning her biological mom's name. Not because she's mad, but because she's scared that the more that truth sinks in, the more it makes her want to know about her family. Her real family.
Blair's eyes widened when she heard Sterling's question.
"Oh My God you totally have no other siblings. It's against my rule!"
Sterling's brows crossed when she heard what Blair just said.
"W-what? What rule?"
Blair is caught off-guard.
"A rule .."
She roamed her eyes to think of another made-up rule.
"That says you should not have other siblings."
Sterling chuckled but immediately stopped when she saw Blair's face.
"Oh, you're serious."
She shrugged her laugh.
"Of course I'm serious."
Blair decided to make herself a cup of yogurt.
"I don't remember us making that rule."
Blair stopped scooping gummy bears for a moment then looked up to Sterling.
"I just did, like seconds ago."
Sterling's confusion is all over her face.
"Oh, so what if we had other siblings? Like, mom giving birth to another baby?"
Blair happily finished putting toppings on her yogurt.
"I'd feel bad for them, though."
Sterling walked from standing outside Bowser's office into getting a bottle of water to the chiller right across the kitchen side.
"Why is that?"
Asked Sterling while opening her water bottle.
"Because they would have to live outside our twin doors and will never have what we have. That'd be very sad for them."
Sterling nodded her head while understanding Blair's statement.
"Yeah, totally but babies are cute."
Blair looked at her.
"Yeah! They are! But, I don't want one in our house at this age. Babies can be super annoying especially at night."
Sterling's brows arched.
"How would you know that? We don't even know anyone with babies."
"When Jennings and I were dating, There was one time I was on the phone with him, all we can both hear is a baby, crying. He said his cousin crashed into their house that night with her baby. So, instead of that night being horny, both of us didn't talk about sex because of that baby crying, reminding us that sex produces a baby. So, be safe. "
Sterling slowly nodded her head.
"So, do you not plan on having a baby with Miles? Someday?"
Asked Sterling.
"Actually, no. I don't think I'm going to have a baby. I believe that women are not obliged to reproduce if one doesn't want to."
"What if Miles wants kids?"
Blair looked at Sterling.
"We can adopt."
Sterling once again nodded her head. Trying to think if she herself wants to carry a child in her womb.
"Bowser! How's the case going?"
Bowser just walked past them straight into his office without saying a word.
"I told you men do have a period."
"Okay, maybe he woke up on the wrong side of the bed or, maybe—"
Sterling immediately looked at Blair with googly eyes then interrupted Blair.
"I do not like everything you will say after that maybe. "
Blair, paying no mind to what Sterling just said, happily continued to say what's in her mind.
"—Maybe he realized that cutting us out in this case is a big mistake!"
Sterling is in shock because she actually liked what Blair just said.
"Yeah! I think that you're right. Maybe he needs a lacrosse fast runner goalie and a sharpshooter!"
The twins looked at each other.
"We need to help him! I mean, without being noticed."
Whispered Blair to Sterling.
"Totally! I'm so in! My body is thirsty for adrenaline and adventure. Also, I might die of boredom at home. So yes, please!"
With giggling, Sterling happily agreed to Blair.
"Great. So why don't we subtly follow him when he leaves?"
Sterling blew a raspberry.
"Oh, that depends if our shift is over."
"Oh,"
Blair's plans just flew away.
"But, we can do it when we're both free."
Blair smiled at Sterling, knowing that their moment of badassery is back on.
The students of Willingham are busy in the cafeteria as they gather inside to have lunch. Including April and Luke, that is now officially together, and are eating with the tri-squad.
"Do you mind?"
Asked Luke to April, asking if it's okay to have a bite of her sandwich.
April sweetly smiled at him.
"No, babe. Go ahead - wait, let me"
She took her sandwich and brought it to Luke's lips. He smiled and shyly chuckled then took a bite. April flirtatiously laughed at Luke.
"Oh My God, you guys are so cute together."
April looked at Hannah B with an arched brow.
"Of course we are."
"I wonder what you saw on Sterling when you should have been with April this whole time."
Ezekiel suddenly swooped in. Luke looked up at him, shocked by what Ezequiel just said. But he just took a big sigh.
"The past is the past. Besides, I'm with April now, right babe?"
April smiled at him then held Luke's hand.
"Of course, and we are happy with each other."
April looked at Hannah B and Ezequiel full of fake love for Luke.
"You're not doing well."
Ruth popped out of nowhere, April groaned when she heard her voice.
"Why do you even care?"
Ruth sat on the floor beside her, leaning against the concrete wall. The sun is on its peak but lunch isn't over yet. She went to the garden because she needed to take a break and take her mask off.
"Because you're using that poor guy."
She took a gum out of her chest pocket and offered April one.
"No, I'm good. Thanks."
April once again roamed her eyes around the garden. It is beautiful seeing how each kind of flower and plants complement each other. She then walked away.
"Leaving already?"
Ruth kept up with April then tried to talk to her but April, known to be stubborn and a snob, proved herself that she is one.
"Hey, Bowser! Where are you going? Are you going to catch the skip? Well, good luck to you then! I hope you don't get leg cramps while running with him a hundred meters ahead of you!"
Blair is thoughtful but Bowser hates it when she's right. He stopped pushing the door then turned around.
"Don't think that even if you're right, I will let you in this case. Next time girls, next time."
He then walked away. The twins groaned.
"Ugh! But I really want some action and running and gun pointing!"
Blair looked at Sterling.
"Maybe I should go back to school."
Blair rushed to her side then slowly touched her back just to help ease her away.
"No, not yet. The school is full of herpes right now."
Sterling's face drew confusion.
"What? I don't believe you. I'll come back to school tomorrow."
Blair is worried that Sterling might not be thinking it through. She knows that Sterling will get struck when she sees how everything is at school.
"Oh, you're wearing your uniform, are you going back to school sweetie?"
Asked Debbie when she put down the orange juice she took from the fridge.
"Yes ma'am. I'm feeling good today and I really miss going to school and fellowship as well."
Anderson took a sandwich from the table while looking at Sterling.
"You sure about that? It's only been three days. Don't you want to have a little more rest?"
Sterling smiled at them with confidence.
"No, dad. I just realized that three days are more than enough for me."
Anderson nodded his head then looked at Debbie who is now looking at him.
"Okay, just be careful honey."
Debbie reached for Sterling's hand that's laying on the table.
"Yes mom, besides, Blair will be with me all the time."
Debbie reached for Blair's hand and looked at her.
"Please look out for your sister."
Debbie's eyes are nearly in tears so she held it back then softly squeezed Blair's hand. Blair just looked at her, weirded out by her mother's attitude because she's too kind to them this morning.
"Yes, ma'am will do."
The Willingham students are now staring at Sterling while entering the school grounds. She consciously holds her body bag then slowly walks to her first period.
"Who are you?"
Sterling turned around to her left and saw an unfamiliar girl staring at her.
"Hey!"
She once again took Sterling's attention.
"¿Si?"
Sterling, answered but still puzzled as to why this girl is unknown to her.
"Are you new here?"
Sterling just shook her head as an answer.
"¿Eres tú?"
The girl nodded her head. Then offered a handshake.
"Mi nombre es Señorita Ruth. Mucho gusto señorita—"
Sterling reached out for Ruth's hand then shook it.
"Carolina."
The bell rang and the two took their own hands. April, which is in front of Sterling heard everything that just happened. Blair secretly stared at Ruth trying to see if she was going to be a good or a bad person. Their teacher arrived then the class started.
"Hey! Carolina!"
Sterling turned around trying to see who's calling her.
"Ruth? Yes? Why?"
She continued to walk while Ruth walks with her.
"Nothing. I just thought we could be friends."
Sterling smiled at her.
"Really? You do?"
Ruth smiled then took Sterling's hand.
"Yeah. I haven't found one since I came here. Now I found you, so we're friends."
Sterling smiled at her.
"Oh bless your heart. Thank you!"
The two happily walked inside the cafeteria. Sterling and Ruth threw their bags on the table where Blair is busy texting with Miles.
"Blair, this is Ruth. She's my new friend."
Sterling proudly presented Ruth.
"Really? Congratulations you finally found a friend."
Blair mocked Sterling without looking at them. Suddenly her phone rang then took off to talk to Miles.
"Don't mind Blair, she's a normal person."
Ruth chuckled.
"It's okay. She's in love, I understand."
Sterling's brows crossed.
"I don't remember telling you that's her boyfriend she was texting with."
Ruth shrugged her shoulders then leaned into Sterling's ear.
"It's easy to read people, Miss Carolina."
Sterling felt her face turn red when she felt Ruth's breath on her ear so she immediately covered her ear where Ruth was whispering a second ago.
"Oh, you're like a mind reader."
They both laughed.
"What is happening?"
Asked Ezekiel while the three of them look at Sterling and Ruth.
"Sterling seems fine now. Thank the Lord she can laugh again."
Ezequiel looked at Hannah B.
"For the love of God Hannah B, try to learn to read the room."
April cannot stop looking at Sterling. She looks happy now, maybe she's moved on. That thought broke April's heart that she can't even hear anything but her real self aching to come out just to be with her but it is not the right time.
"Hey, babe"
Luke kissed April's cheek. She looked at Luke then grabbed him by the collar then kissed him on the lips.
"Oohhh"
The students that are in the cafeteria cheered and clapped for them. It is just a simple kiss. Just two lips against each other without moving an inch. They are both surprised by what just happened. Sterling saw the whole thing because she looked around when she heard the cheering. She saw April's soft lips against someone else. She knew that's her cue so she grabbed her bag then took off.
"Hey! Miss Carolina! Where are you going? What's wrong?"
Ruth grabbed her palm which made her stop in the hallway.
"Stop calling me Carolina. I am Sterling. Sterling Wesley."
Ruth nodded her head then slowly walked around Sterling who is standing in the middle of the hallway.
"So, that's why. You're pretty popular. I heard your name many times."
Ruth squeezed her hand then pulled it.
"Come with me."
Sterling looked around while running with Ruth, hoping to see Blair, but to her surprise, her twin isn't around.
"Wow. I didn't even know Willingham has a garden."
Sterling is amazed by the garden. She's not a flower kind of girl but she really appreciates the plants and flowers. Ruth removed the jacket wrapped around her waist then neatly put it on the floor then pat that space.
"Sit here."
Sterling sat down, leaned against the wall then hugged her knees.
"People talk about me because they are trying to predict my reactions after coming back to school and find out that my ex-best friend slash now-arch-enemy and ex-boyfriend are now dating."
Ruth took a gum from her pocket.
"Want one?"
Sterling looked at it.
"Chewing gum helps you remember things that's why it is good when you are reviewing lessons for an upcoming exam but I don't want to remember this time every time I chew gum. So, no."
"Oops, sorry I didn't know that there are people here."
Sterling looked up to April then stood up.
"I need to find Blair."
She looked at Ruth to say goodbye then took off. April stayed in the garden while watching Sterling's back. Ruth took her jacket then stood up.
"I heard you guys were friends."
April looked at Ruth, trying to figure out what this woman is trying to say.
"In the past, yes."
April replied, but was still confused why this person keeps on talking to her when they're not close.
"So, tell me what she likes."
April's brows crossed. Her face is crumpled with confusion. Maybe she just heard it wrong or she's just giving malice to it.
"I said tell me what Sterling likes."
April stood straight then faced Ruth.
"And why would I do that?"
Ruth shrugged her shoulders.
"Then I will owe you one. Then one day it will come in handy."
April's eyes followed Ruth who's slowly walking backward while waiting for her answer.
"I don't have intel for you. Ask her yourself. She seems to like you. Why are you even asking what she likes?"
Ruth just chuckled then winked at her. Happily turned around with a smile on her face.
"Sterling!"
Blair rushed towards Sterling when she saw her walking towards the gym.
"Oh! Where have you been?"
Asked Sterling when she turned around.
"I was looking all over the place for you. Where were you? Miles and I got into a fight. I hate it when he's annoyingly right! Ugh!"
Blair groaned while Sterling is busy changing clothes.
"Go on, change clothes while we're alone in here."
Blair looked at her.
"Why are you not listening to me? I said Miles and I got into a fight. Now I realized he's right and that made me be mad at him more."
Blair groaned then their attention was taken by Ruth who just walked in. She slowly walked towards Blair and held out a hand.
"I'm Ruth, it's nice to meet you Blair"
Even if confused, Blair shook her hand while thoroughly looking at Ruth's face.
"So, where are you from?"
"Massachusetts, I moved here because my aunt is now my guardian after my parents passed away."
Blair slowly nodded then looked at Sterling.
"Tragic. I'm sorry for your loss."
"Yeah, I didn't know, I'm really sorry"
Sterling offered Ruth a handshake which the latter gladly accepted.
"Welcome to Willingham"
Sterling welcomed Ruth with a warm smile and a handshake. The bell rang, Blair and Sterling changed clothes before the others come.
"IS THAT A GAY BAR ?! AND HE'S WITH YOLANDA?"
Sterling asked Blair while trying to stretch her neck and see clearly.
"Yes Sterling I think it's a gay bar and yeah, they are together. Maybe Bowser and Yolanda are together with this while kicking it. You know what I mean?"
Sterling looked at Blair with confusion.
"Why do you look so relaxed? I mean, what's up with you?"
Blair put her arms on the steering wheel.
"Oh, that's my inner chi speaking. My online Yoda said I should try to be more relaxed and talk slow to sink every word in my mind. She said I tend to say a bunch of stupid things without thinking about it."
Sterling just looked back on the street. There are drag queens and some muscular men smoking outside.
"I'm so bored."
Blair opened her car door but Sterling immediately called her name.
"Where are you going?"
Blair looked back at her.
"I want something to eat. My gums are bored."
Sterling just nodded then let her go while watching the bar where they saw Bowser and Yolanda.
"You looking for something?"
A guy that's selling newspaper asked Blair. She kept looking around for a vending machine but cannot seem to find one.
"Yeah. I want something gummy. Do you sell those?"
Blair roamed her eyes on his newspaper stand. The man smiled the reached for his body bag.
"I might have exactly like that."
He took out a small paper bag. Blair accepted it then slightly squeezed.
"Weird packaging. Are these gummy bears?"
The man smiled at her.
"Better. Gummy worms."
The man winked at her.
"Ew, please don't do that. How much do I owe you?"
"Fifty."
Blair's brows crossed when she heard the price.
"That's too expensive. What's in there? 24-Karat gold? Pssh!"
The man chuckled then threw his cigarette out of nowhere.
"It's good stuff. You'll like it."
Blair took out a bill then paid the man. She happily walked back to the car where Sterling is still sitting, trying to fight boredom by looking at her Instagram.
"Ugh!"
Sterling was groaning when Blair hopped back in the car.
"What's your problem?"
She annoyingly asked her.
"I don't understand why she's trying so hard! I mean, I don't get it. It's enough that she broke it off with me but too much flirting with Luke? She's like scrubbing it off my face."
While Sterling is having a breakdown, Blair excitedly opened the envelope.
"Whatever that is, I need that."
Sterling quickly grabbed the envelope then grabbed whatever is inside.
"Rude! Those are my gummy worms!"
Sterling didn't bother with what Blair just said.
"Oh, they're cute."
The twins looked at the colorful translucent gummy worm before Sterling took it to her mouth. Blair was just watching her eat them all feeling a little bit annoyed that her food is satisfying her sister's gums, not hers.
"Okay, Sterling. I know you're going through something right now, so I will totally forgive you for eating my food."
Sterling looked at her.
"Thank you so much. I really am lucky to have you."
Blair smiled at her then looked outside.
"Oh! That's him! He's running!"
The skip was approaching their way. Bowser is running after him but he's not fast enough to keep up with him. Sterling is trying to measure the right timing to bump the skip.
"Open the door when I said now."
Blair looked at her then nodded her head to Sterling.
"Okay, in 3..2.NOW!"
Blair forcefully opened her car door to bump with the skip which is now laying on the ground, in shock, and in pain from what just happened. Blair dramatically got out of the car, holding her gun and pointing at him.
"Who are you?"
Asked the charismatic violent drug dealer laying on the ground. Sterling went out of the car.
"Oh my God. My hands are so soft like a sponge. Blair! Come have a look!"
"What the hell?"
Bowser confused and mad, took the skip out of the ground then tied his hands on his back. Yolanda, also holding a pistol walked up to them.
"Oh, we have a backup."
Yolanda put her gun on her back while looking at the skip who's limping because of what Blair did to him.
"Blair look, touch my body and see if I glow."
Sterling is so happy when she was devastated and having a breakdown literally five minutes ago. Blair, with her brows crossed as a sign of confusion, still tried to touch her shoulder. Sterling's eyes along with her smile widened when she saw herself glowing from the inside.
"Woooow! Do you see me, Blair? Bowser! I am glowing! Look at me!"
Sterling is chuckling. Bowser looked at Blair but just like him, she's also confused.
"You high as a kite, kid."
The skip laughed at Sterling which caused him to cough then spit on the ground. Bowser looked at Blair and Sterling.
"We will have a little talk soon."
Full of disappointment to the twins, he turned around to put the skip in his car to bring him in.
"Your work dad is mad. Go home, girls, and take care of her. Try not to be pulled over. You'll be in trouble."
Yolanda took another glimpse of Sterling who's now acting like a spider woman, thinking that she might be one by launching a series of spider webs from her hand.
