"Officer, here you are," I say as a policeman approaches me, heading to me from a cordoned off portion of this dune.
I'll go ahead and assume he's the officer in charge of overseeing Katarina until we arrive. The officer is in the early part of his fifties, probably the sheriff around here. A lot of other officers are eyeing us as we approach, silently talking to each other.
The dunes of Katarina are as what you would expect dunes to be, seas of sand and great rock formations of varying shapes, sizes, and colors. Since Katarina Hole is located in the border between the north and the west, it has the unique characteristic of being frozen in the winter and dry and arid in the summer. Very dual-sided, so to speak.
"Major Felix, I assume," the officer says to me.
"Yep, that's me," I reply.
