Chapter 12 - The Man in the Shadows

In the cover of darkness, three moons up above to offer their dim light to the night, a man walks in the shadows. His tall figure casts a looming figure in front of him, copying his every move as he looks around to make sure he is alone, that no one is following him. Yes, he must make sure he is alone.

It is the dead of the night, the winds howl against the empty roads. No one is around, no one will see him. Good, good.

Finally convincing himself that he is alone, the man strengthens his resolve. He crosses a street, entering an empty alley.

The alley is dark, a rat scurries and squeaks nearby, the smell of fresh trash nearby attacks his nose with the scent of rotting eggs and day-old meat. Stray dogs are attacking the trash bins, howling and barking at each other.
