"What can a free man do?" the voice of the man on the television repeated the question over and over again until I became nervous.
It was the thirtieth day since I had been in this house underground. And during those days, which seemed to be filled with happiness, I realised one thing. And that is that people and freedom are the two most dangerous things.
"Man kills. Man loses all moral values. I'm tired of saying all this, because I know that nobody watches the news these days. Everyone has forgotten about the world and what's going on there. Who am I saying all this for? Just show them that man sitting under the tree," the announcer said and she looked very tired.
The camera went to the man who was sitting under the tree. He had a violin and a dog in his hands.
"Excuse me, but what are you doing here?"
The man raised his head and looked lazily at the camera.
"All is lost and no longer makes any sense," he replied and covered his face.
