As soon as the plane took off, I closed my eyes and fell asleep. Through my closed eyelids I could see the bright light pass through my consciousness, playing with my memory and turning snippets of my life into dreams.
But even so, I could still hear the hum of the engine and Leon's breathing.
The gravity of the earth pulled me down, and at times, it was as if I were floating and falling. Before my eyes flashed all the people who had stayed far behind me. But what was ahead? Only my dreams. My life, the life I had always dreamed of.
But as happens in this life, everything unexpected comes when you're asleep. When your eyes are closed and you think that everything is good.
Life loves the unexpectedness. Or maybe life is the unexpected thing.
In fact, I became convinced of this when I opened my eyes and noticed a strong pull downward.
The plane was about to land. There was no doubt about it. But why?
It was just me and Leon on the plane. And no one else.
