Instinctively, as the blast threw me off of my feet, I hurried to cover Enola's little body with mine so she would not feel much impact of the blast.
We both went tumbling on the floor, my head hitting the travelled ground while wrapping Enola safely in my arms, the little girl only held on to me for dear life, not talking or even making a sound, she only held my neck so tight that it was almost too hard to breathe.
I grunted painfully as we both tumbled to a stop and even though my head was aching badly, I quickly knelt and picked up Enola to check her body.
"Hey baby, are you alright?" I asked her, worried at how disoriented she looked for a while before her eyes settled on me.
