Chapter 17
RAE KELLER
I turned to the teenage girl in front of me and smiled, handing her her orders delicately. "Here you go, thank you!"
She smiled back before rushing back to her friends in glee, holding up their different flavored iced creams and I smiled brightly.
The iced cream here was to die for, totally. Somehow, my senses told me that this was the same iced cream I used to take those times, before my life took a turn for the worst. The iced cream then was expensive as fuck but so worth it. I pushed it off my mind with the single and sane thought that asked why Arlan would buy iced cream for hundreds of dollars just to sell it for tens of dollars here.
I had once asked him about it. The conversation went thus:
I had finished selling to an old couple who I noticed had been frequenting our shop all week, then I had turned to Arlan who was busy stuffing more iced cream into the frozen counter.
