Seeing her mate lying helpless on the bed broke her. It made her want to take his place. She had tried taking away his pain, but she couldn't because the stupid bastard had locked her out. He probably knew she would channel his pain and feel it all on her own.
He didn't want that for her, and that made him angrier. She could have tried to siphon the poison, just like she had done with Carl when Zarinah poisoned him, but the downside to her doing it this time, was that they were mates, which meant that he would still feel her pain anyways.
So she had to wait and watch; she had to practice patience when all her wolf wanted was Rhett's blood. She would make him pay. Hopefully, Zayn's solution to their current predicament would be worth it because otherwise, it would be a shame.
