CHAPTER 10:ACTION
"What!" exclaimed Yuki, taking a step back, "Y-you're not suggesting that we.."
"That's exactly what I'm suggesting." said Akira
"But there's no way that'll work! Even if she thinks that we don't know what makes you think that she would want to see the sister of the guy who broke her heart!"
"It's simple A-O just isn't the type to hold a grudge against others if they haven't done anything to her." "
But still, don't you think that it wouldn't be awkward for her to be around me?"
"I'm way ahead of you and that's why I'll be there too. Just trust me, I've already got this planned out."
"Hmpf! Fine, but I still think it's a bad idea." Said Yuki in a disappointed tone.
"That's fine with me as long as you don't get in the way of my plan."
"Wait, what do you guys talking about?" I asked in a confused tone.
"Jiro get ready because you're going to go on a date!" exclaimed Akira smiling, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"How are you going to do that?"
"Oh, right, I forgot to tell you about my plan!"
"then start explaining."
"Alright, alright don't rush," said Akira in an exaggerated tone.
"My plan is to have you guys secretly meet up."
"How are you going to pull that off?"
"You really are slow aren't you.." said Akira in a disappointed tone. "Oh well, guys I'll just have to guide you through it. My plan is to call A-O to hang out with me and Yuki and you'll tag along without her knowing."
"But what if she sees me with you guys and leaves?"
" Wow, I didn't think about that."
"So what do you think we should do to avoid that?" asked Yuki
"I don't know..." said Akira in a quiet tone crossing his arms.
" How about we make seem that we run into him?" suggested Yuki
``What do you mean by that?" Asked Akira in a confused tone
"What I mean is why don't we just have him wander around some store and we make it seem like we ran into him by chance."
"That could work but what if she sees him before we even get there?"
"Well, I could just go up to guys in case something like that happens," I suggested "I guess that could work, got any better ideas Akira?"
"None, you?"
"Nothing here either." Said Yuki letting out a deep sigh "Well since we don't get anything else guess we'll just stick to your idea for now."
"Just let us know when your free so we can set up this "date" "I'm free next Saturday if that works for you."
"yeah, I don't think I got anything planned that week. How about you Akira, think you'll be free that week?"
"I don't know I'll have to check, but I think I should be able to. I'll be sure to keep you updated." "Alright and with that out of the way you're dismissed. I'll let you guys know where we'll meet up soon."
"Yes, ma'am." Said Akira in an exhausted tone.
"And Jiro, make sure to take this time to relax and prepare there's no guarantee that she will just forgive and forget."
"Thanks for worrying but I'm always prepared for the worst. I'm not that easy to break you know." I said, smiling forcefully towards Yuki making my way back upstairs. But as I made my way upstairs, I felt my mind flooding with thoughts of doubt and sorrow. It was almost as if everything inside me was screaming, It was as if everything within me was crying in pain and was ready to tear myself apart from the inside out at any minute. These feelings, however didn't seem to go away, they only seemed to grow stronger with each passing day it felt as if these demons of mine were only getting closer and closer to completely consuming me in their darkness, as they filled me with fear and anxiety. Then, before I knew it the day had finally arrived, we were going to meet at a shopping center not too far from my school.
"Guess I should start getting ready," I said to myself lifting myself from my seat, making my way towards my closet. But what if it was too late to try to get another chance? What if I just end up making myself an even greater burden to A-O, and could I take back all the things I've said without leaving her scarred for the rest of her life. I froze in front of my closet as I was slowly beginning to be consumed in my thoughts," Maybe it's best if I stayed away as she asked. Maybe that way I won't ruin whatever happiness she has in her new life without me. I began to slowly make my way back to my seat ready to give up. But did I really have the strength to move on? Could I even think of a future without her in it? I stood there slowly being devoured by my thoughts once again, only to be interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing from across the room. It was Yuki.
"Hello"
"Where the hell are you!" shouted Yuki "I'm here at the bus stop with Akira and A-O is going to be at the mall soon! What's taking you so long?!"
"Sorry I accidentally slept in." I said nervously laughing.
"Well, you better hurry up and get your ass over here now!" Shouted Yuki hanging up on me.
"Talk about intense" I said to myself "Maybe I should give this a shot" cracking a smile as I began to fill with hope for the future. I rushed over towards my closet, putting on my favorite outfit running downstairs and out the door. I could hear my heart pounding in my ears as I ran as fast as I could down the street until I could see Yuki and Akira waiting at the stop.
"Hey guys- sorry I'm late-" I said, catching my breath
"Sorry for keeping you guys waiting," I said as Yuki began to slowly approach me, raising her arm and slapping me!
"What was that for!" I shouted, holding my hand against my cheek as she raised her arm and slapped me once again.
"Do you really need to ask!" she said, grabbing me by my collar shaking me back and forth. "How could you sleep in during a time like this!"
"What do you mean!"
"You idiot!" she exclaimed kneeing me in my stomach throwing me down onto the ground.
"You're the one who asked us for help so how about you try to take this seriously instead of wasting our time and having us wait out here while you got yourself a couple more minutes of sleep!"
"Alright, Alright! I get it. I'm sorry ok! Just calm down already!"
"How can you tell me to calm down! If it weren't for you we wouldn't have to be doing any of this in the first place!"
"You think I don't already know that, all of this is my fault!"
"Hey guys, let's just all calm down a bit the bus can be here any minute now." said Akira desperately trying to steer our attention elsewhere.
"Zip it!" I shouted
"I know that all of this is my fault, I know that I messed up! But don't you think that I'm just as affected by my mistake as you are!"
"Shut up! This is why you're in this mess! You're always thinking about nothing but yourself, A-O is probably going through hell right now and you still want to play the victim!" Exclaimed Yuki, turning around and running away.
"Where are you going?! I thought you were going to help me fix this!" I shouted,
"Go find someone else to help you!"
"Fine leave, that's why I got Akira here to help me! I don't need you or your help!"
"Hey.." said Akira, grabbing a hold of my shoulder. "Calm down, don't you think you're taking this a little too far?.."
" I don't care." I said, pushing his hand off my shoulder "that just means one less sensitive mess to deal with."
"What do you mean one less?" said Akira in an offended tone
"what else would I mean the only real reason I'm in this mess is because A-O is just too sensitive if she weren't such a mess I wouldn't be waiting for a bus here with you?"
"Listen Jiro I get your upset but you shouldn't be saying stuff like that. Did you forget the whole reason why we're out here in the first place?"
" Of course I didn't, do you really think I'm that forgetful?"
" Of course not, but can you tell me why we're actually here?"
" we're here to get A-O to get over this so that I can get things back to normal and go along with my life."
"Yuki was right.." said Akira under his breath facing his head down
" HM? Did you say something?"
"N-no nothing at all." said Akira, forcing on a smile "Hey, um I don't feel too good I think I'm going to head home right now." mumbled Akira holding his stomach.
"Hey, come on! The bus is about to be here, don't you think you can hold up until we get there?"
"No, I'm sorry but I should really start heading back. I think it's getting pretty bad." said Akira in a quessy voice.
" But how am I going to talk to A-O if you aren't there!" I shouted down the street.
"Don't worry about it you'll be fine, just act like you ran into her by chance! Good luck!" shouted Akira waving from down the road.
"Damn it! Talk about bad timing." I said to myself jumping from my spot startled by the screeching of the bus's brakes. "I guess there's no turning back now." I said to myself swiping my card and taking a seat.``
"I hope I can make things normal again." *Beep* "Next stop wood street mall"
