There he was....either the love of my life or my biggest heartbreak. "Ndaa mukololo" he greets as he leans in for a kiss. He saw my hesitation and motioned for me to come out. I carefully opened the window and jumped out, since our house wasn't very big it was quite easy to jump out. "There's somebody i want you to meet at the palace" he said to me. Before i could even ask who he was talking about my heart was already skipping beats. My palms began sweating and i was breathing heavily at this point. "Relax she's not that bad" he said with a little chuckle. "She?" i asked as my anxiety grew bigger by the second. " Yes, my grandmother Vho Mishumo, she's at the palace for a couple of weeks and I'd promised that I'd show her the woman i intend on making my wife. Okay i don't what makes me more nervous, meeting a royal or the fact that Thendo intends on marrying me. My father will be furious when he finds out I'm messing around with a royal boy. Well it's not like I have anything to lose... So i looked at Thendo and nodded my head. We held hands and began walking to the palace. The walk there was long and filled with silence. Although Thendo seemed pretty cool about the entire situation you could still see the fear in his eyes. We reached the palace gates and instead of walking in he led me through the backdoor. I felt like i was breaking in, i mean what kind of boyfriend introduces his girlfriend through back doors? Anyway we walked up the stairs and walked into the lounge room where Vho Mishumo was having her afternoon tea. A part of me was still overwhelmed by the size of this house.... It was like a maze! I've never seen any thing like it, how do these people not get lost in this house?! My thoughts were interrupted by Thendo's grandmother as she stood up abruptly and began walking towards me. I immediately bowed down and greeted her with her clan praises. She held my hand and helped me up, i was facing down and she held my chin up and stared me in the eyes. Her eyes pierced right through my soul and i wasn't sure whether to embrace her or make a run for it. Finally she opened her mouth and spoke " she has nice child bearing hips, not bad". Okay at that moment i felt like running out of this house and never looking back. Have i bitten off more than i can chew?.....
