Chapter 14 - Mimic

'Is he a looter? Are you kidding me? Is there any other looter here beside me?'

Baran checked out again. He saw someone among the creature pack. He could not see the face of the looter in dark clothes. What really scared Baran was the looter's giant sword hanging from his shoulder. He could not understand how he carried the enormous sword. It stood weighing over twenty kilos alone. He seemed to have no difficulty carrying it on his back.

The main problem was that the creatures didn't attack him! Baran was more afraid of this situation.

'W-Why don't they attack him? He's a person like me.'

The looter roaming in the Hell station was looking for his prey. The great thing about attacking someone else's hell rift was that the creatures only targeted the owner of the rift. That's why the looter had never taken his giant sword off his back. He was walking among the creatures with ease. He wasn't very patient. He was tired of looking for more. His loud voice echoed throughout the station.

'Come out, you coward! Come out and fight like a man.'

'This man is crazy. He wants me to fight against his giant sword. Does my pistol have a chance against him? '

His hand went to his gun. The looter's back was turned to him. He took aim. In a position to easily hit him if he wanted to, but he hesitated.

'He's a human! How can I shoot him? I just killed creatures. Killing people is something different. What if he really dies? ' He lowered his gun.

'Haha… I know where you are.' said the looter.

Baran thought the man was bluffing.

The man turned slowly towards him. Their gaze found each other.

'There you are!'

He sprinted on him. Baran jumped from his hiding place. With his leap, the creatures also followed him. All concentration was scattered. He was shooting randomly.

One of the bullets headed towards the looter. The man dodged the bullet with unexpected agility. Baran had seen the man dodge the bullet.

'This guy's straight out of the Matrix!'

He had to escape before the creatures cornered him. He rushed to the boss's room, pressing the piles of corpses and bones. He could not think of any other more rational idea.

The looter, walking slowly, sped up when he saw his hunt heading to the boss room.

'You little shit. Are you going to walk into the boss's room and try to get rid of me? You see in your dreams.'

Despite his heavy sword, he could run at the same speed as the creatures. He had been going to Hell for many years. He knew these first floors like his palm. He could blindly tell what was hiding in which corner.

Baran could not remember which way he went to the boss out of haste. The cave walls looked all the same. He got lost among the writhing tunnels. Running without looking back. He stopped for a moment when he thought he had left the creatures and looters behind. The voices had stopped. Was he too far away? There were no creatures on this side of the tunnel or they all went to the station side. He sat down for a while and rested.

'Is that madman still after me? The flaming letters would probably say if he had gone. Somewhere in here. He's setting me up. I have to move on.'

He stood up. Continued to move through the tunnel. The corridor was widening. After the creatures that followed him, he calmed down. He continued on his way, searching around. He encountered a chest in the sprawling room. There were no creatures around and the chest just stood.

'What is this chest doing in Hell?'

He approached the chest with caution. Search around it deeply. It was a normal trunk. He kicked the chest and ran away. The chest did not react as it should.

'I wonder what's in it? I have bad feelings about this!'

On the one hand, Baran was intrigued. He wanted to see what was inside the chest. He opened the chest. A sticky enormous wet tongue caught him. Sharp teeth appeared on the lids of the chest. This was a Mimic. It was a monster shaped like a chest. Just like flesh-eating plants, they waited for their prey to come to them and open their lids.

Baran gasped from the sticky tongue surrounding his chest. His body was drawn into the chest, into the mouth of the beast. He watched helplessly as the monster swallowed into its stomach. The monster's mouth was full of jagged teeth. The mimic swallowed its prey and the lid was closed. Baran's screams of pain could be heard from the outside, though muffled. Seconds later, the screams stopped and the facial expression burped.

The looter had come to the entrance of the boss room before Baran. He loved to kill. He killed the creatures around to spend time while waiting for Baran. When his prey got here he wanted to kill him with his own hands. But what he expected did not happen. Flaming letters appeared before him.

The looter shouted in anger. He shouted, banging his giant sword against the walls. Before his body disappeared, his voice echoed in Hell.

'Idiot! I was gonna kill you and me. Useless bastard-'

The looter turned to his own Hell.
