She was rudely interrupted by events in the real world. Spade wanted her help with the interrogation of the corpse. The man of the crown seemed to be a lively one, even in death. He needed to be held down by one person, and someone else had to operate the corpse candle.
"I am sorry that I interrupted your honeymoon," the captain said as he closed the cabin door.
"What?"
"It's obvious from your face that you were having an intimate moment." Spade coughed.
"I really need to stop being so damn transparent." Serenica scratched her head.
"Please don't. Well, I have everything done for you already."
Serenica glanced at the corpse in the tub.
It had something stuffed in its mouth, a contract, probably, and it had the distinctive bloated appearance of a relatively fresh corpse that had been in the water for too long.
The healer sat down next to the corpse candle that was casting frightening shadows on the walls of the dimly lit cabin.
