"Oh hello Riley. How can i help?"
"You have a dog don't you?"
"Fang, yes. Is this one looking for a friend?" He smiled. "Well i figured that it was worth a try" I shrugged as i held the lead that Beast was pulling on. "You must be strong if you're holding him back"
"It's just because he isn't pulling very hard. He knows not to pull but when he wants a friend he starts".
Fang stood up and came to the door. I widened my eyes when Beast did a little hop and took his lead off. "Oh blimy. He hasn't run around like that in a while" Hagrid said as he watched the dogs run around together. I just smiled and looked back at them. "Where you planning to go down to Hogsmeade?"
"Yes" I nodded. "I have some business to deal with. Could you?" He nodded at the dogs as they rolled around. "Uh, sure?" I frowned before smiling.
"Beast!" I called him back and put the lead on him but left it long. It's not that i didn't trust Beast to not run away. I just felt safer with him on the lead. Hagrid said something to Fang and he trotted over by my side. "Thank you Riley" Hagrid nodded. He grabbed his wand and an Axe and made his way into the forest. I frowned at him until he disappeared and looked down at Fang's soppy face. "Come on then big boy's" I sighed and walked down the path to Hogsmeade.
"I know i agreed last time but if they grey one doesn't have a lead he can't come in"
"Um..." I thought for a second and tied one end of the lead around fangs collar before clipping back on Beast's. "You really don't give up do you?"
"Nope" i grinned as i held the chain attached to the dogs. "Come on in then" She smiled. "Thank you" I grinned and went in and sat down. The lead was long so they had plenty of room for themselves. They brought over two bowls of water for the dogs and warm milk for me. "thank you" i smiled as they left and read my book.
I got bored after a while so i got some tea to take away and but my book away. I grabbed the chain and walked to the field where the sun was beaming down. I took the lead off when i closed the gate behind me. "You be good. Don't go too far" I nodded and they ran off to play. "Soppy dogs" I smiled as they jumped around together.
"Hi" Emily came and sat next to me. "Who's dog is that?" She nodded at Fang confused. "How long have you been at this school?"
"Every year?"
"And you didn't know that Hagrid had a dog?"
"That's Fang!?"
"Yeah?"
"He's got more energy than i thought" she grinned at me.
I smiled and looked back at them. "Where'd they go?" I stood up. I looked at the woods i sighed. "Crap" I muttered before running toward it. "Beast! Fang!"
"Get your furry little asses here now!"
I heard whining in the distance and ran toward it. "Oh my god, Beast!" I knelt down my him as he bled heavily. Fang was laying next to him whining. "Good boy Fang" I muttered as i looked at the cut on his side and on his leg.
I got the chain and looped it around his chest. I stood up and pulled on the chain and collar to get him up. "Good boy" I muttered as he wobbled with whines. "Come Fang"
He stood up and kept nudging Beast to keep him stood up and we walked back to the bench slowly. "What happened to him?"
"I don't know" I let him lay down for a break and i got out my wand. I thought for a second about the spell to clean up blood. "Oh god what is it?" I said as i sat down and stroked his head. "Tergeo" Emily pointed her wand at the gashes. I then pointed mine at them "Vulnera Sanentur" I muttered before they fixed. I sighed and planted a kiss on his head and scratching Fangs when he layed next to me.
"Come on then you two" I sighed as i grabbed the chain and helped Beast up again to walk him back.
"Ah there you are! How was it?"
"Fang was such a good boy" I smiled. "Is that blood on him?" He frowned as he knelt down. "Not his. Beast's. They ran off when i was distracted and something attacked him"
"Is he ok?"
"Yeah he should be" I sighed as he layed on the ground. "He can stay here until he can at least walk if you want"
"Really? That would be great. Thank you"
Hagrid nodded and picked up Beast to bring him inside. I went back up to the school with a frown.
I sat down in the library and looked next to me where Beast would usually be. "Where's the mutt?"
"Hagrid's"
"Why?"
"He can't walk because something happened to him. He ran off and i found him bleeding out"
"Oh"
"And i'd appreciate it if you didn't call him a mutt, Riggs"
Riggs was an annoying girl crazy twerp that never gave up the chance to spend time with a girl. And you know what boys are like from 12 and over. Gross. But this boy was so much worse. And he has serious anger issues, so one wrong move and he'll snap.
"Why so grumpy?" He pouted before smirking. "You do know how a library works right?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well all i'm saying is you're supposed to be quiet. So if you could shut up that would be great" I frowned as i pulled a book out of my bag. "What book's that?" I let out a loud sigh. "What does it say?"
"Book of Potions"
"Ah yes, that's why i'm here. To study. So shut the fuck up and piss off"
"How dare you!"
"Oh what are you going to do!" I said as we both stood up. My face rested as he grew angrier. "Let's see" He grinned before charging at me and shoving me into the shelf. I let out a loud grunt as i heard a snap and collapsed to the ground shaking. "St- op" I stuttered as i tried to keep my breath.
He grabbed the collar of my shirt and picked me back up, not that i could do anything, my i'm pretty sure he broke something. "Say another word and i'll do it" He said as he stroked my neck with his finger. It wasn't the smartest idea, but i just gave a little smirk. "Word" He grinned and moved his hand around my neck.
You know how you can get those really tall people in schools? Yeah, he wasn't much taller than many people but he was still tall and extremely strong.
I felt myself get dragged up the wall so that i was the same height as him and my toes were barley touching the floor. "Rig- gs" I stuttered as he tightened his grip. His eyes were completely black which wasn't the colour of them usually. My eyes went blurry and my body flopped before i blacked out.
