CHAPTER START---
Finn Deimne; The Braver.
World-famous, the inspiration to all Pallums and anyone who feels powerless in their own life.
Against all odds, he built himself into a perfect leader and warrior. Should Orario ever come under threat, he is the commander-in-chief of all its forces. Respected by citizens and adventurers, even Ottar and the gods hold him in high regard.
When the gods descended, the Pallums learned their Goddess Phiana was a myth, a false god created by their heroes, they fell into unmatched despair after learning this, they lost their will and their pride.
His entire being is built on the idea that he must be better, the name 'Finn' itself means light in the Pallum language, because that's what he strives to be, their new light, the hope for his race, that is the burden he placed on his own shoulders at the young age of 10.
But now, staring down a new monster that has all but killed his party, with only Gareth by his side, none of that matters.
No amount of reputation or accolades will help on this battlefield, Finn; The Braver, is not needed.
Raising his thumb to his forehead, he focuses his magic as Gareth prepares to charge," Magic spear, penetrate my forehead that offers blood. HELL FINEGAS!" he cries out.
His eyes go bloodshot as the veins on his body swell, his heart rate speeds up, and his adrenaline spikes. His mind becomes foggy and is clear in the next moment. Only seeing his enemy.
His lifetime of strategic training disappears as both he and Gareth charge their opponent.
To those who know what Gareth is capable of, this scene is impossible, Finn ran past him and met Rajang head-on, as the monster swung he sped up, narrowly avoiding the massive fist and delivering a right hook to Rajang's jaw, the monster tumbles as it's knocked back, something Gareth, touted as possibly the physically strongest in Orario couldn't do.
"AAAAHHHHHHH!" Finn releases a mad battle cry as he ducks and weaves while landing hit after hit.
Gareth joins him, taking more and more damage as Finn unintentionally causes the beast to hit him, collateral damage of fists flying wildly and being diverted his way occasionally, anyone else in their party would have been killed, that's exactly why this only works with the kids on the sideline. Because as powerful as their level 5s are, they are only that, children.
Falna represents not only who you are, but who you want to be.
As a Pallum, Finn's physical stats will always be lower than even a regular human matching his level, simply because his race had a hard time developing it.
Gareth was the opposite, Dwarves are gifted physically, his physical stats are all above 900, his skill Dvergr Enhance greatly boosts his strength, Ardigalea greatly boosts his endurance, Fist Strike, Crush and Strong Defense also boost him physically, so why was he the weakest in this current brawl?
"RAAAHHH!" Rajang roars as it lands a powerful punch onto Finn, the Pallum would have felt his bones cracking as he blocks it, his feet sinking into the stone as he shifts his raised hands from guarding to holding Rajang's fist, lifting the monster above his head with great effort and slamming it on its back.
"Still absurd eh Finn!" Gareth laughs as they both begin attacking the downed monster.
In most of their fights, Gareth is easily the strongest in the Loki familia.
But Finn's desire to overcome the gap Pallums have with other races developed into truly exceptional magic.
Hell Finegas, when he doesn't have to command forces, this magic can be used to overcome this difference at the cost of his ability to reason. His increased desire to fight overcomes his mind and clouds his thoughts.
The Braver leaves, and a rampaging berserker takes his place on the front lines.
Just like him, Hell Finegas sits in a league of its own in terms of what it can overcome, Berserker, Beastification, all other enhancements cannot compare, with this magic Finn is able to overcome the difference in level by boosting EVERYTHING on his Falna to be Loki's strongest Knight.
All of his development abilities that already provide large boosts are further enhanced to challenge any adventurer in this world.
Knocking away both the adventures beside it, Rajang pounds its chest and both its arms begin glowing red, shimmering with heat as muscles tense and harden even further.
"If you can hear me, we need to work together on this," Gareth says in a low voice to Finn who stands beside him.
"AHHHH!" Finn screams as he charges forward, the monster happily matching his thirst for battle.
In an absurd exchange of blows, every punch from the massive fists of the monster was met with Finn and Gareth punching in tandem to match its force.
Gareth had the great task of matching Finn as working together was currently impossible.
The floor of the entire room cracks and shakes, every hit was like an earthquake.
"RARRRGH!" Rajang roars as the lightning flares up even more, its pace begins to speed up as the skin on its arms tear to exposed the hard muscle beneath.
"C'MON!" Gareth yells out, his hands long broken, but if he stops, the monster wins.
"Veil Breath!" Riveria casts her magic on both of them, choosing to focus on buffing and healing the active fighters rather than anyone else as her magic finally refills enough to use a spell.
As she watches the fight carefully and with exhausted eyes, Ais leaves her side, going to the other end of the room and building her magic for one final attack without the Elf noticing.
In one final intense clash, Gareth's body finally gives.
His shoulders buckle as his arms break, to their credit Rajang falls back and topples over.
Finn barely stands his ground, gritting his teeth and immediately charging forward.
He jumps on the monster's back as it tries to right itself, punching down on the lightning-clad fur to get to the center of it where the crystal should be.
Holding on with one hand he hammers away, his flesh burning from the lightning on its back, but he doesn't care, berserkers don't care about such things, only killing the enemy matters.
Rajang bucks and kicks all around, jumping and slamming into walls, nothing would get Finn to move. His entire sleeve was bloody by the time he finally breaks the skin.
As Finn continues his jackhammer blows, a powerfully wind washes over the battle.
"Lil Rafaga!" Ais cries out at the top of her lungs, Rajang turned to her the moment it felt the winds.
"AIS STOP!" Riveria cries out, watching in horror as Ais desperately tries to complete this adventure.
Gareth stares down at his broken arms, gritting his teeth in frustration and powerlessness as he tries to flex his fingers.
As she rushes forward clad in a small tornado of wind, everything focused on her blade, Rajang's swollen red arms reach out, trying to palm her as she makes contact.
Gareth bears the pain, wraps his broken fingers around the handle of his greataxe and begins running forward.
Riveria knows what's about to happen, tears in her eyes as she watches this suicide attempt.
Finn couldn't care any less, he wasn't bothered by what's happening around him as he continued to hammer away, his broken hand now reaching wrist deep into Rajang with every strike.
Rajang leaps forward to meet Ais's blade, Desperate sinks almost a foot into his palm before it exits, all that for an insignificant slash Ais thinks, the fingers about to close in on her.
"Huh," she feels herself being dragged through the air, the ceiling of the room comes into her view as she's tossed back to her hurt teammates. She was saved at the last moment.
As she rolls across the ground, a heart-wrenching scream reaches her ears.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" Riveria's voice reaches her.
Looking up she sees Rajang crushing the mage in his grasp.
A monster that can outmatch TANKS, was crushing their MAGE.
She could almost hear the cracking of bones, no, she could hear it, she could see it. Riveria's left hand that had thrown Ais to safety was caught between the fingers of the monster, she could see it break as her body was too weak to help.
She saw the bone pierce the skin, then she saw the arm fall to the floor as he continues to crush the mage.
"ACH!" the screaming stops as she begins to vomit up blood.
Ais froze, her mind broke as she couldn't look away, she couldn't move a muscle.
"RAARRGH!" Rajang roars in Riveria's face as a stream of crackling yellow lightning fires out directly into the mage.
Barely a moment later the bloodied, battered, and broken Gareth shoulder checks the monster.
The beast instinctively throws the burnt and charred Riveria away as it tries to swipe at the Dwarf.
His weak legs couldn't react fast enough, deciding to bet his life on a certain ambitious Pallum, Gareth tosses his axe up toward the Rajang's back from where the loud pounding sound is reaching his ears.
The fingers wrap around him and he can feel his body resisting, Rajang was weakened after all the fighting thankfully, they'd been fighting for at least 10 minutes now.
As it begins crushing him, the mouth opens as it prepares another blast of lighting for him.
"AAAAHHHHHH!" a battle cry is heard from the monster's back.
Finally making a big enough wound, Finn slammed the battleaxe into the injury, standing up he punches down onto the blade of the double-sided axe that was facing upward as if he was a hammer and the axe was just a big nail.
The adamantite axe sinks deeper and deeper into the beast until it stops, and the back blade sinks into Finn.
Between his index and ring finger on his right hand, all the way to his elbow is split by the enchanted adamantite blade.
Reaching up with his now free hand he pulls down on the blade with all his might, putting all his strength into it.
*CRACK*
The relieving sound of a magic crystal shattering is heard across the battlefield.
As Rajang becomes dust and ash Finn drops to the floor, passing out from the exertion as his adrenaline fades away, in most cases his Hell Finegas simply ends and he returns to normal after a fight, but this was a near-death fight.
Pieces of adamantite are stuck in his arm as the shattered axe rests beside him.
Laying face down, Gareth cranes his neck up to see Finn with his right arm almost completely split up to his elbow, unconscious.
"Gareth..." he looks over to see Ais kneeling over Riveria's burnt body, completely unrecognizable if not for the clothes, the girl was weeping for the Elf, weeping for the woman who raised her.
"Sigh, let's get them back to camp, we'll deal with you later Ais," he didn't have the time or energy to scold her, lives were at stake and time was running out...
