CHAPTER START---
Stumbling through the labyrinth, Yang can be seen leaning heavily against the sleek stone wall as he crawls along the corridor. Clutching his head with his right hand as he drags his shoulder along the wall his mind is clouded.
The pain of what feels like a sledgehammer slamming against a brick wall the moment the wave of chaos energy saturated his being. Hit after hit forming cracks upon cracks. Battling through the pain he continues onward until the very next corner. As he sees a uniquely designed corridor around the final corner. Instead of the smooth gray stonework, this corridor has many angular veins or red energy spreading from the direction he is heading outward.
'Guess this is it, damn it my head' he thinks before pushing onward.
As he makes his way down the corridor the heavy stomping of footsteps can be heard behind him accompanied by the clanging of heavy plate armor. Looking over his shoulder Yang sees a wide dwarf with a scruffy beard charging directly at him with a mace in hand.
'Noise. Too much noise. Loud' are the only thoughts Yang has as the sound echoing through the walls of the enclosed corridor seems to echo more and more with every step. His brows furrow and his face scrunched. Without realizing it, his flames begin to manifest around his body.
"QUIET!" he yells as his mage armor flares larger than intended, his emotions manifesting for all to see in the form of his magic. As the unfortunate level 2 adventurer halts in his tracks, he lowers his mace and, ironically, freezes upon feeling the absurd heat of the flames. Large white and yellow flames rage out from Yang's body as new azure wisps can be seen intertwined in the ever-present Mage Armor.
Seeing that he is outmatched the dwarf made the sensible choice and quietly muttered "I surrender" before disappearing from the labyrinth to reappear on the Dian Cecht insignia.
As Hephaestus saw this occurrence a small scowl formed on her face, as she lifts a finger to her chin to ponder what she just witnessed. 'The Chaos Mark is doing something to him ' she thinks as she glances at the other divine mirrors to analyze the other competitors. 'Looks like it's only him, I'll have to keep this in mind'.
Freya however was watching with glee. 'Hmm nothing about him is ever normal, well that's better than boring' she thinks as a mischievous smile forms on her face.
Overseeing this event, Orcus was not confused in the least. As the Chaos Mark is a sigil of his power, he knows completely what is going on. 'Even if you don't know what you want, it will show you what you want ' he thinks as he lifts his chalice once more and empties it of the fine wine within.
Within the final room of the labyrinth, an intense staredown was happening at the moment. each standing at one of the 4 entrances to the 40m diameter room, Yang can be seen squinting, doing his best to relieve the pain of his massive headache as the man standing across from him patiently holds his staff in anticipation.
'Ok, he's only level 3, I'm level 4 so this is easy ' the man thinks as he looks at Yang, taking one last look at the angular veins of the room spreading across the floor, walls and ceiling all connecting to the sigil of Orcus, the intimidating red and black Ram staring down at the 2 men from the ceiling.
Deciding to end the fight before others show up, the man quickly holds his staff forward, his purple coat dances around his leather armor as the energy from his chant begins to flare around him causing his long blonde hair to thrash around. Beneath his half-mask, his lips move quickly as his green eyes squint at his opponent.
Seeing his opponent chanting Yang reacts quickly, as the man raises his staff in front of his face, the spellcasting focus blocks his view for less than a moment, but that was all yang needed.
Before the man could even realize it, a loud *BOOM!* echoed in the chamber, as he is about the finish his chant and strike the floor with the base of his staff, a foot covered in flames blocks his view.
Reacting quickly the man barely moves to his left, canceling his chant and avoiding the brunt of the attack. As he backs off the create distance he raises his right hand and tears his half-mask off(Kakashi mask). The proximity and heat of the flames were enough to ignite the fabric and even cause slight burns on his cream skin.
'He's fast' the man thinks as he changes his style completely. Focusing on short spells the man says barely 4 words before firing off a small blast of wind at his opponent.
Surprising himself, and everyone else for that matter. Yang seems to react slowly to his sudden action and is hit by this attack. Sending him flying back into the wall of the room he falls onto his knees clutching his head once more.
"Argh, damn it" Yang mutters, barely above a whisper as he struggles to focus on his opponent. 'I need to focus' he thinks as he once more rushes his opponent.
Flying toward his opponent he tries to strike out with a right punch, boosted by flame as most of his strikes are, but his opponent is a level 4. The mage dodges his strike and continues to retreat backward.
'This kid a problem' The older man says as he is pushed back further and further with each strike.
"Didn't think you'd be this big of a problem Elementalist, I'm Sid" the mage says, trying his best to stall and think of a way to end this fight. 'Too fast for longer chants to work, high mobility so I can't run, he's a problem' His mind tries to formulate a plan for this unexpectedly difficult obstacle.
Understanding his opponent's intentions, Yang decides to accept the bait, 'I need time for this headache to settle down, fine, let's play along' he decides before he humors the man.
"Yeah, I'd rather you call me Yang ya know, what familia you from?" he asks the man as his flames become matted to his body. Showing a sign of peace without completely disabling them as this is still a battle.
"A temporary familia, let's just say it's one way to pay a debt, " the man says as he lowers his staff slightly, reciprocating Yang's gesture of temporary peace. 'Maybe if I just stall until someone else gets here, hmmm, yeah. I can sit back and watch them fight.'
"Well, that's one reason to join a familia I suppose, why compete in this?" Yang asks, further trying to stall for time.
"I win this and my remaining few months end now and I go back to my original familia," the man says with a sad smile on his face.
"You want to go home, I can understand that, can't think of a better reason to be in this place"
"What about you Ele---, Yang?"
"Something similar, but a year outside of the dungeon just isn't a good option for me"
"You can always surrender now and you get past that you know, how about it," The man says with a cheerful smile.
"Sorry, this is the final room, be a shame to quit here"
"I can respect that"
Suddenly, the mage slams the end of his staff onto the floor and yells one word, "Kagayaku!"(SHINE!) and causes a massive flash of light Yang was suddenly blinded for a moment.
Lashing out on instinct Yang pushes his hand outward and sends a gale outward, the sound of Sid's body slamming against the stone wall echoes through the chamber as Yang steps backward cautiously.
Rubbing his eyes, the pain in his head flaring up more than it had before. Yang opens his eyes just in time to see a blade lunging his chest...
