CHAPTER START------
---The City of Orario, Tower of Babel, Yang's Apartment 5:40 PM...
Slowly Yang placed the small map in his lap onto the coffee table and slowly got up as he watched the clock on the wall. Noting the time he quickly got up and checked himself in the mirror once more to ensure his shirt, pants, and jacket were still well kept before exiting his apartment.
Walking down the halls of the tower of Babel he caught the eye of a few individuals. Mostly women and those who were curious about his new clothes. This is the first time he wore anything that wasn't either combat gear or simple functional clothes and it came to some people who were used to seeing him in the tower and a bit of a surprise but luckily none approached him.
He quickly made his way to 'The Vintage Harvest' and stood outside patiently waiting for his date to arrive. Before long the lovely Lefiya Viridis came walking down the street wearing a simple but still stunning white dress which reached down to her shins instead of her normal outfit. Upon seeing her Yang froze for a moment before he shook himself out of the stupor.
Yang: "You look loverly Lefiya."
Lefiya: "Thank you Yang" A light blushes creeps onto his face, "Uh, Tione helped me get dressed, I guess it worked."
Yang: "Trust me you always look incredible, shall we head inside?"
Lefiya: "Oh of course."
To her please Yang opened the door and followed her inside the building. The pair were quickly shown to a table and began small talk as any normal date has.
Lefiya: "I don't think I've ever been to this restaurant before, have you?"
Yang: "Yeah it's the only one I've been to actually, brought a friend and his family here a while ago."
Lefiya: "Oh that's really nice of you."
Yang: "Well he saved my life and brought me to the city so it's the very least I could do."
Lefiya: "Yeah I know how that feels, feeling like you'll never be able to express how thankful you are."
Yang: "If that's not the truth. Even today they still help me out."
Lefiya: "Oh how so?"
Yang: "Well. before I went into the dungeon to train I had my room in the tower renovated, his wife spent the day shopping with me to help me furnish it."
Lefiya: "Uh, you realize you could have bought a full house with that money right?"
Yang: "Oh yeah, but I like the view, and a nice view means a lot when you can fly."
Lefiya: "That must be nice huh."
Yang: "Flying?"
Lefiya: "Yeah, honestly when I saw that you could fly I was a little jealous."
Yang: "Well if you're nice I can take you flying after dinner."
Lefiya: "Uh no that's not a good idea."
Yang: "Scared of heights?"
Lefiya: "Well that and...I'm wearing a dress." She finishes off in a hushed voice.
Yang: "Haha sorry sorry I honestly didn't even think of that, I'll keep that in mind before I decide to whisk you into the sky in the future ok, promise."
Lefiya: "Thank you, I'll appreciate that."
Yang: "So I spent all day shopping, what were you up to."
Lefiya: "Oh it was a nightmare, Tione and Tiona got a hold of me for "Date Prep", mmm."
Yang: "Hahahahahaha that must have been fun."
Lefiya: "Hey don't laugh." Lefiya pouts at her date.
Yang: "C'mon it couldn't have been that bad right."
Lefiya: "We spent all day trying on clothes, it was horrible."
Yang: "Well look on the bright side, you look even more gorgeous than usual right now, so I guess it paid off right?"
Lefiya: "Hmph, I guess so."
Yang: "Oh the waiters here, let's order."
---Meanwhile, Outside The Vintage Harvest, sitting at a small table at a sidewalk cafe...
Tione, Tiona, Riveria, Ais, and Bete could be seen sitting doing a terrible job at hiding themselves with menus.
Bete: "Ugh I still don't see why I have to be here."
Tiona: "Well wolf boy you're the one always bragging about your wolf senses, so focus on listening in, look they're eating and laughing, tell us what they're saying."
Bete: "Ugh just shush so I can hear."
After a few moments of silence, Bete honed in on the pair and listened intently.
Bete: "He's talking about, ugh, how he blew his feet up the first time he tried to fly, and she's laughing at it. Haven't heard her laugh this much before. Now they're talking about, life before Orario."
At his words, everyone looked through the restaurant window and noticed Lefiya was speaking whilst Yang only listened.
Bete: "She didn't say much just that, she's happy she met us and joined the Loki familia."
Ais: "I'm, glad to hear that."
Tione and Tiona: Nodding in sync the twins show their agreement.
Bete: "Now he's talking, shhh."
At his command, everyone stopped speaking and kept looking at the pair. To their surprise, Yang had a neutral expression on his face whilst talking and even joked around a bit as he held up his palm and small flames flickered to life before disappearing, across from him however Lefiya appeared to be almost in tears. As Yang notices this he quickly places his hand onto hers that was resting on the table and leans in close to speak to her. After he speaks she seems to calm down quite a bit and wipes the tears from her eyes. Not long after they resume their cheerful conversation.
Everyone at the table looked at Bete expectantly and a bit apprehensive, they now knew that they certainly pried into someone's personal information that he didn't want them to know. Even Bete looked a bit conflicted on whether or not he should say. Before too long, however, he spoke to the girls at his table.
Bete: "He, he doesn't know. Apparently, his friend found him outside the city and brought him here, he wasn't even an adventurer before that day, and well, his memories aren't there. He only remembers some small things like weapons, nature, and bits and pieces of general knowledge. No magic, no dungeon, nothing like that, and also, no personal memories. He just had a name and the clothes on his back."
Tione: "I feel like I'm gonna be sick, that was none of our business and now we know."
Ais: "I wonder who he is, to be that strong."
Riveria: "If he is telling the truth then his intentions with Lefiya aren't bad at least so my purpose for being here is done. What Ais said is a good point though. His strength isn't normal. We need more information. Ais, can you speak to Lefiya when she gets back?"
Ais: "Of course."
Riveria: "I'm heading back to get some paperwork done, I think we've pried enough for one night."
Everyone: "Yeah."
---2 Hours Later...
Yang and Lefiya could be seen walking arm in arm out of the restaurant with smiles on their faces as they spoke. To anyone that saw this it would be clear as day that they had a wonderful time, they were now walking around the entertainment district perusing the street foods at their leisure.
Lefiya: "You know I've never really done this, normally I'm in my books at this time."
Yang: "Heh well I'm about the same really, if I'm not training or dungeon crawling I'm probably gonna be reading up on things about magic, the city, and the world everyone should know. My apartment is loaded with books already. Some of which cost me more than the renovation in its entirety."
Lefiya: "Wow, I can't afford those, uh, could I borrow some maybe?"
Hearing his question Yang couldn't resist but to lean in and whisper into her ear before giving her a light kiss on the cheek.
Yang: "No but your welcome to stay there and read all night long." He slowly leans in to deliver to her a kiss on the cheek.
Lefiya: "Uhh"
Yang: "Hehe you're adorable when you're that color."
Lefiya: "Hmph, that's not funny."
Yang: "That's just your point of view, how about we find a place to watch the show."
Lefiya: "Show?"
Yang: "Yeah, I'll get you a good spot to watch from don't worry."
Walking the street arm in arm they bought a small bag of treats before walking back toward the direction of the tower, soon enough Lefiya realizes that they were leaving the entertainment district where most shows would be especially at night.
Lefiya: "Uh wouldn't the show be back there."
Yang: "Nope, the show is actually up there" Pointing to the sky, he leaves his date confused for only a moment.
Lefiya: "Huh, what do you ahhhhhhh!"
Quickly before she could continue speaking Yang had already stored his shoes into his inventory and carefully scooped her up in a bridal carry before jumping into the air. Before she could find her bearings, instead of beginning to fall they instead rose even further. Looking down Lefiya saw flames propelling them from under his bare feet and held onto him for her life while yelling loud enough to almost injure his ears. Before long Yang landed on a familiar balcony and put her down, the young elf girl quickly backed away from the edge and Yang sat on the stone rail looking at her with an amused smirk on his face.
Lefiya: "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"
Yang: "Sorry sorry I just wanted you to get a good view."
Lefiya: "OF WHAT?!"
Yang: "Uh, the show. Yeah, this could have gone better."
Lefiya: Slowly calms down, Lefiya gathers her thoughts "I don't like heights."
Yang: "Well, it's a good thing I can fly then, take my hand, I won't let anything happen to you I promise."
Lefiya: "Mmm, if anything happens to me Ais will kill you."
Yang: "Huh, hadn't even thought of that, come on take my hand."
As Lefiya took his hand Yang quickly pulled her up side-saddle onto his lap with his legs over the edge of the balcony as he takes his seat from moments ago. Both facing out toward the city Lefiya's grip was like a vice on the arm that held her waist.
Lefiya: Eyes shut tight, she barely manages to whisper, "This isn't what I expected when I took your hand, I should punch you in the face for this."
Yang: "You're welcome to if it doesn't seem worth it. You asked why not buy a house and do you remember what I told you?"
Lefiya: "You said the view."
Yang: "That's where we are now, so open your eyes and take it in, the show is about to start."
Lefiya: "MMMM, fine." Slowly opens her eyes to see the view, "Wow, the city is so, bright. Like a million lights down there, this is gorgeous. Hmm, I can see why you chose to live here. So what's the show?"
As he heard her question Yang released one of the arms from her waist and slowly condensed fire, wind, and lightning magic into his palm for 10 seconds before firing it into the sky and preparing another one. As the magic exploded hundreds of meters above the city the eyes of the people on the street quickly caught sight of it and whilst some were confused others were fearful of what this magic would do. To everyone's pleasant surprise, however, it exploded into many bright lights in circular patterns of different colors that continuously exploded. As one of these magic attacks, if it could even be called that appeared to end another would be fired into the sky, this time creating the 5 pointed star pattern, then another creating a crescent moon.
This 'Show' went on for 2 minutes before it stopped with one large symbol of the Hephaestus familia in bright red. Some of the adventurers on the ground followed the trail of these magic 'attacks' and saw Yang with Lefiya in his lap looking up at the light show, quickly word began to spread of this occurrence. Many familias stood outside of their residences, even Freya and Loki familia were standing outside looking at the show. Some were confused, other entranced by the beauty, and others in awe that magic could even do this. On the many floors of the tower, people were at the windows looking on, including one redhead who was rather shocked to see her familia logo as the last symbol.
Lefiya: "Wow, I didn't even think about using magic like that. What was that?"
Yang: "Fireworks, what did you think, did you like the show?"
Lefiya: "Of course, you still could have told me rather than scaring me half to death."
Yang: "But that's no fun, some of the best things in life are surprises you know. Like what's about to happen now."
Lefiya: "Huh, wha--"
Her words were quickly stopped as Yang's lips crashed into her. For a short instant, she hesitated before giving in to the kiss blissfully unaware of the people below that could just barely see what was going on. The individuals on the nearby upper floors who were at their windows however got the full view. After almost a minute their lips separated and both individuals had a bright blush spread across their faces.
Yang: "Still against surprises?"
Lefiya: "Hmm, I guess some are pretty great. But you know, it's best to have a second opinion."
Yang: "Gladly M'lady." He says before leaning in once more for another kiss
After a second long kiss, the pair parted once more before Yang spoke.
Yang: "You know, as much as I really hate to say it, it's getting pretty late, I should fly you back to your familia now."
Lefiya: "Awe, I was hoping to cash in that offer you made. A night with some new books sounds fun."
Before she could even continue speaking Yang had already scooped her up and began walking towards the balcony entrance to his apartment, quickly opening the sliding glass door both these teens entered the apartment to continue their night.
