Chapter 13 - Mana Crystals

Under the dim yellow night, the half-moon-shaped shark's tail fin was wandering in the sea. It seemed to be aimless, but it had secretly locked onto its target.

Suddenly, it opened its bloody mouth and charged towards the raft.

Crash!

The shark opened its bloody mouth and crushed a piece of the raft floor in an instant. Einstein was so shocked that he flapped his wings and flew up. He even cried out nervously, "Ou-ou!"

"My floor!"

Initially, Bick was worried that he could not deal with the shark. However, when he saw that the shark had bitten a piece of his raft floor with one bite and was going to attack again, his temper flared up!

The raft was painstakingly built by him. He would not allow the shark to damage it at will.

Holding the metal spear tightly, Bick stabbed at the shark.

Splash!

A splash of water splashed. There was a wound on the top of the shark head, but it clearly did not hurt its vital parts.

After being attacked, the shark became even more ferocious. It was actually going to bite in the direction where Bick was.

Suddenly, Bick remembered something.

"A rotten sailor hat!"

Bick remembered that the dirty-looking sailor hat on his head had a special function. As long as it was thrown into the water, it would emit a strong smell of blood.

In that case, why not use it as bait!

Thinking of this, Bick immediately took off the hat on his head, stepped to the other side of the raft, and shook the sailor hat in the water!

In an instant, Bick saw that the hat was emitting a bloody smell. The shark on the opposite side was about to attack the raft, but suddenly, as if it had been stimulated, it suddenly turned around and swam straight to his side.

Bick saw the opportunity and quickly lifted the hat.

Almost at the same time, the shark opened its bloody mouth and rushed towards the place where the hat was and bit it.

But Bick was extremely fast.

When the shark opened its mouth, the metal spear had already pierced into it.

Boosh!

The metal spear pierced through the shark's mouth, and a strong smell of blood assaulted his nostrils. The shark writhed in pain, but it couldn't get rid of it.

Bick took the opportunity and thrust the metal spear again.

The shark writhed in pain, but it was useless this time. In a moment, the shark had lost its strength and was basically dead.

Bick looked at the shark's body and smiled coldly. "Anything that dares to destroy my raft will not have a good ending!"

"Ou ou! Ou ou!"

Einstein landed back on the raft and stared at the dead shark angrily. He agreed with Bick's words.

Initially, he was a little unhappy that the shark had destroyed his raft. However, when he looked at the dead body of the shark, he suddenly laughed.

"Hehe! You only destroy one of my floors, but if I were to clean you up and exchange you for supplies, it would be enough to repair a few floors!"

Thinking of this, Bick prepared to use his hands to drag the shark onto the raft.

However, the shark was too big. Bick estimated that if he were to bring this thing onto the raft, the entire raft would be occupied by its body.

"I still need to expand!"

Helplessly, Bick had no choice but to use a straw rope to tie up the shark's tail and tie the other end of the straw rope to the raft. Then, he began to expand the raft.

Since he had obtained a large number of planks, it would not be a problem to expand the raft by a row.

No sooner said than done. Bick prepared the necessary materials and opened the principle interface to start manufacturing.

In a short while, his raft changed from the original size of 4x6 to 6x6 and became a square raft.

He expanded the raft in this way because of safety concerns. From now on, he and Einstein would rest in the middle of the raft. Even if there was a sudden danger, they would not be too late to deal with it and fall into the sea because of the broken floor.

After the expansion was completed, Bick used a straw rope to pull the shark up.

The length of the shark was almost the same as Bick's height. Its teeth were like tiny knives, extremely sharp.

Bick took a lot of time to deal with the body.

But this time, his harvest was too great.

[You have obtained shark's sharp teeth x8!]

[You have obtained shark's fin x1!]

[You have obtained shark meat x8!]

Bick looked at the shark's sharp teeth and was slightly puzzled. What could this thing do?

After taking a closer look, Bick smiled. He had actually obtained a rare material!

[Shark's sharp teeth: Sharp shark's teeth. Rare material. Can be used as weapons and defensive equipment.]

During the battle just now, it was not very convenient for Bick to use the metal spear. The main reason was the damage of the spear was too low. If it had not pierced the shark's mouth, he would not know how to kill it.

Now that he had shark's sharp teeth, he could use them to create some more powerful weapons.

After putting away the shark's sharp teeth, Bick looked at those two kinds of food that had been broken down.

Shark meat seemed to be notorious for being unpalatable. Bick was not short of food, so he decided to hang them on the trading interface.

What resources could he exchange them for?

Bick scratched his head and opened the principle interface.

After searching for a while, Bick was attracted by an interesting item.

[Material divination compass: glass (2/2), wood (2/2), iron nails (0/1), magic crystal (0/1)]

[Level: excellent]

[Explanation: The failed invention of a diviner which cannot find anything other than materials. Moreover, it can only be used once a day. The only benefit is that the needle can point to the direction of the material for an hour when using the divination compass.]

"This is a good thing!"

In this doomsday survival competition, wasn't the thing that everyone lacked the most was materials!

If he had this material divination compass, he would know what he wanted with just a divination. Was there anything better than this that could be built?

Bick was excited. He really wanted to build this thing right away, and the only material that he did not have right now was mana crystals.

Then what was there to hesitate? He could directly use shark meat to trade for mana crystals!

Bick opened the trade interface and entered his trade details.

[Shark meat x8 to trade for mana crystals]

[Remark: This can solve your eight-days food needs!]

Bick used eight servings of shark meat to trade for one mana crystal. It seemed like he was at a slight disadvantage, but he was very clear about it.

Mana crystals definitely weren't resources that could be easily obtained from time to time. Otherwise, with his own development speed, he would have long found them.

In such a situation, it would be easier to succeed if he spent a lot of money to purchase it.

As long as he obtained the mana crystal, he could create a material divination compass. He only needed to divine whatever materials he needed. Was he afraid that he would not be able to find the key materials in the future?
