Richard was no less thrilled or surprised than Samuel at being picked for the role. He didn't think Jovani would seek him out for this. Not considering their past together.
Yet, it seemed that the other man was still full of many surprises.
"So of you may already know him very well. A person close to the family but not directly tied together with them." Jovani continued as he made a show of putting his hand of Richard's shoulder.
Samuel shifted on his feet. His head cocking slightly as he resisted the urge to pull at the tie around his neck that suddenly felt suffocatingly tight. It was too late to back out now though. Marcus wouldn't let that happen.
