Chereads / Downfall Of The Kings / Chapter 38 - 038 The True Savior

Chapter 38 - 038 The True Savior

I turned to my faithful blob of death and spoke gently.

"SB keep watch for a bit. Kill anything that tries to attack us okay?"

BOOOOOOOP BLOOP BLOOP BLOO-

"SHHHHHHHHHH!!"

I whispered fiercely to him.

"Ven is asleep! Lower your voice."

Bloop

I shook my head at him and with that he bounced away and stood guard at the edge of my vision.

β€”β€”β€”

Bloop Bloop Bloop

SB continued to bounce until he had reached the curve of the nook that his master and lover were resting by. Behind him were the two most precious things in the world. Ahead he could hear the vicious horror of the monsters seeking any life, simply to bathe in its fear.

Bloop Bloooop

SB determined to protect those who protect him, was not going to let his master down as he rested.

Continuing his soft bounces, he kept moving forward from the hidden twist in this cave and eventually found himself in the flat area with many paths.

Blooooop

What should he do? He was confident that no matter the amount of monsters that decided to commit suicide at the edge SB's jelly like cuteness, he would succeed every time. His worry was that if he got caught up in the thrill of slaughter, he might overlook some monsters.

If this happened then not only would his master and masters lover not get rest, but they could be severely hurt or even die.

BLOOOOOOP

SB dismissed the vile thoughts. He needed to find a covering of some kind to block the path to his master. To keep them safe.

Bloop Bloop Bloop

As he began to bounce around looking for such an object, SB started to reminisce on the kindness of Em.

He had only been a lonely jelly existence for as long as he could remember. Longing for more.

Then one day Em, his soon to be master showed up.

Not only had he fed SB delicious grass for hours on end but, he played with him and also gave him a name. His precious name.

Sir Blob.

For someone to properly name him, meant that this individual would protect them as they were now an extension of his family.

The generosity of his amazing master had not stopped there as he had saved him from his cyclical insanity of running for cover at the sight of any Afos.

SB was weak. He knew that but, he also knew he could get infinitely stronger, if only someone was willing to aid him.

One person did just that. Em.

Not only had he blessed him with a second name SB, he had also taken him to slaughter the evil Afos that tormented him back on the first floor.

Em had even fed him those corpses. Even though they rightfully belonged to the one who took the life, his master was generous and gave them all to SB.

By feeding SB the delicious corpses of those stupid lizards, SB could feel himself getting stronger.

Truly he was the only one for SB. A kind and gentle master that protects those he loves.

His master fights fearlessly. Destroying everything without mercy. SB who had been oppressed his entire slime life admired and respected this style.

They can't hurt you if you destroy them completely.

In many different ways had Em showed his love to SB. From protecting him, to feeding him, even in helping him achieve the legendary state known as "Evolution." The long lost legend of his slime brethren was finally realized with SB.

He had become ridiculously powerful. Almost to the point that his master didn't realize how strong he truly was. Not that it mattered, his life was now only devoted to Em. He would use anything and everything at his disposal to protect Em and those precious to him....Always.

GGGGUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Another monster roared. It was much closer than before so SB knew he didn't have much time. Pulling him out of the diary of memories, SB refocused more intently in his search.

Looking around the cave system they were in, it didn't take long to find a large stone protruding awkwardly out of a wall.

Using his Slime jelly abilities, he melted the massive stone in half.

BBBBOOOOOOOOMMMM

It broke off with a resounding thud.

Bloop Bloop Bloop

KKKKKKLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDD

With the roars getting louder and closer SB knew he was almost out of time. In a hurried fashion he began to push the massive stone towards the path that secretly held his master and masters lover.

It was not a perfect fit as the soft glow from a flame could still be visible through the small gap above, but it was enough.

This should keep him safe should I fail in any way. With that thought peace had finally settled within the bottom of SB and his green blobness.

Since he had sealed off the only path with any sort of light, SB would have to fight anything that encroached itself nearby in almost total darkness. It didn't bother him a bit. Since he too was a monster, he also possessed night vision.

RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH

WWWWWWWIIIIIIRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH

AAAAAAAAAAVVVVVVVRRRRRRROOOO

More bestial cries resonated throughout the cave.

They were here. SB could tell. They were at the entrances to the many paths of this flat open area. All eyes affixed on him. Lustfully glaring at him. Underestimating SB. Already imagining their victory against the tiny ball of slime.

SB welcomed their ignorance. After all he had learned from the best in the world, Em. It was thanks to him that SB had finally achieved true power and fighting technique. Because of his close observations on master, he could boast proudly that he would not be the one to fall.

BBBBLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOPPPPP

With a beastly roar of his own, SB commanded the onslaught to begin. Unwilling to wait any longer and once again eager to bathe in the fading life of his enemies and those who would hurt Em, it began.

At his call, all the wicked beasts of this domain complied. With blinding speed they rushed towards SB from all directions. Unfortunately for them, SB was leagues above any of the creatures and the absolute best they could offer.

To SB, they all seemed to move in slow motion. Taking forever to reach him. He shook his jelly body and instead decided to come to them mid rush.

BBBBBBBLLLLLLLLOOOOOOPPPPPPPP

With senseless blinding speed, he moved towards his prey. The first one SB made contact with was a giant shelled bug with pincers and 20 legs. A large horn protruding from its head, it attempted to stab SB.

With an ungodly amount of effortlessness SB dodged. With that recent move, he found himself above the bug and on the cave ceiling. Using his force and momentum, SB launched himself to come crashing down on the creature.

QQQQAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

The dying song of the monster rang out as SB removed itself from the crater it had caused. The giant bug's body was crushed and imploded in the middle where SB had dove.

Looking at him still, some monsters wavered and others pressed on eager for a good battle.

It mattered not to SB, the true apostle of death. They were all going to die.

Going from monster to monster with flashing speed, SB slaughtered.

Different colored life essences bathed him throughout the onslaught.

Massive Centipedes, giant bugs, muscular furred beasts, winged creatures with scythes for appendages, and even fire breathing lizards joined the fray.

Unbeknownst to them they were requesting death, and SB was too happy to comply.

With each kill, SB was caught up in the thrill of absolute destruction.

Sometimes he would melt a monster in half or even just a few limbs at a time. Simply to watch them suffer. He took great pleasure in their agony.

With other creatures he would condense himself as tightly as he could and launch himself towards them. The impact of the collision would send them crashing to the near indestructible walls of the cave. Effectively plastering their insides on the wall to paint a picture of grotesque horror.

SB was swiped at, clawed, and even roasted with fire. Despite all these attacks, he kept up with his speed. Allowing him effortless dodging through the turmoil.

The onslaught continued in such a fashion for hours and hours on end. Just as he would finish off a wave of monsters, another would be there moments later to take their place.

BBLLLOOOOPPP BBBLLLOOOOPP BBBLLLOOOPP

SB was lost in the primitive urge to slaughter. Dancing about in the remains of those who came against him. Even as the sweet ecstasy of battle overtook him, he never lost focus. Always keeping an eye on the sealed entrance.

It happened sometime around the 389th wave of beasts. SB was melting the bodies of several centipede when out of no where-

BBBBBAAAAAAAMMM

BBBBBOOOOOOOMMM

BBAAAAAAMMMM

Several crashing strikes could be heard. He left the centipedes alone, half melted and turned his blobness around. To SB's horror a new kind of monster had appeared and was destroying the stone block he had used to Seal and protect his master.

It stood tall on its hind legs. With its appearance resembling a mesh of monsters. Centipedes for arms, Wings that resembled Scythes, and a muscular torso all led up to its disgusting face.

A twisted lizard like face.

This was a chimera. The combination of the greatest strengths of any monsters, mashed together to form a hideous creature of destruction.

It continued the banging on the stone until it was severely cracked. One or two more hits would destroy it.

For some reason all other monsters had stopped coming. Was it because of the chimera or because of the rampaging assault of death incarnate, SB?

He didn't know but he was grateful because now he could go all out and not worry of an ambush.

Just as the chimera was about to raise its centipede arm for another strike at the stone, SB rushed it.

Wrapping itself around its hind legs, he mercilessly began melting them.

AAAAAAUUUUUUUUUHRRBRRHRHHR

The ungodly pained roar began to vibrate SB. Shaking him in every direction in an attempt to make him lose focus. However, it did nothing to him.

Since SB was made out of 100% slime. The perfect semi solid life form. Attacks like this melted away into nonexistence. Mitigated by his body composition, SB continued to dissolve the legs until the were gone.

BLOOOOP Bloop BLOOOOOP

BOOOOOOOM

With the crashing of the tall creature, the weakened stone seal collapsed.

Instantly A sliver of fear ran through SB.

The beast instinctively knew that fighting in the manner SB had been fighting in, meant only one thing.

He was protecting something precious.

With malicious intent he rushed forward. Dragging himself too quickly with his arms. Turning and following the twisting path he came across the truth.

Two delicious humans resting and ready to be eaten.

This is what he was protecting! That damned slime ball planned on eating these two by himself!

Fully enraged because of both his thought process and the pain coming from the lack of legs, the chimera launched itself with its jaw wide open.

SSSSLLLLLLLAAAAAAAMMMM

Before it could even move a single step, it crashed hard against the wall. Shaking the cave itself upon impact.

Somehow the two humans hadn't woken up which was strange.

The chimera desperately looked around to see what had damaged him. Within seconds he found the cause of his blight.

The damned slime.

SB had crashed into it fully enraged.

How dare he attempt to attack such a loving and gentle master! This was it! SB could no longer hold back its hate and anger at such an action.

BBBBBLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Consumed by total rage, SB did something no one would have ever expected.

During their time in the second floor, his master fully enraged had manifested his aura. It had become too intense to handle and SB had to get off his master. However, during that brief period where he tasted a portion of the true power Master could summon, SB had somehow took in a slight sliver of it.

Could it be because of the Bond level between the two? A fluke? No one knew but it didn't matter. The only thing that did was the scene unfolding now.

BBBLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPP

With the deepest and most primitive Bloop he could muster, SB had manifested its own Aura.

Surrounded in a ball of flaming green, its brilliance illuminated the darkness.

Now fully powered, he moved forward to finish the job.

With every small hop, it drew closer to the chimera who could no longer move. It was drowned in true fear for the first time in its life. Before the vile chimera stood a monster. It was not SB a slime, but instead the very reaper himself, here to collect his life.

With a fearsome launch attack, the chimera exploded. Decorating the cave walls in yellow and orange. Body parts were strewn about and the remainder of the chimera's carcass was plastered to the wall.

Dead.

With a deep breath, SB calmed down and took in his aura. He did a final search looking for any more monsters who desired death but none could be found. No cries or growls of any kind.

Confident that they had all been slaughtered. SB bounced to his masters side, and snuggled up against him.

Bloop Bloop

He was so lucky that he could protect his wonderful master.

Em.
