He picked up a towel to wrap her hair, held it until a few minutes later, then set it aside.
"Go to bed early," he said, reaching out to turn off the light. He dimmed the bedside lamp.
Hearing him leaving, she rolled over and asked, "Where are you going?"

"I have things to do, I'll sleep in the study," he replied, closing the door behind him and leaving her with his tall silhouette.
Lying in bed, she lifted her hand and looked at the wound on the back of her hand. It seemed to retain the warmth left by a man's fingertips. She touched it, then quickly pinched herself.
