Su Li had slept soundly, the world blurring into darkness around her as she did.
When she woke up, the sudden flood of sunlight pierced her eyes without warning.
She reflexively reached up to block the glare and took a moment to adjust before lowering her hand.
Turning to look at the time, it was already 9:30 in the morning.
9:30?
Su Li's eyes widened. She didn't even stop to visit the bathroom, rushing out of the room with her hair a tangled mess and stopping abruptly at the entrance of the master bedroom.
Su Li took a deep breath, trying to regulate her breathing and composure, then placed her hand on the doorknob, gently pressing down and pushing the door open a crack.
The bed was empty...
Su Li let out a quiet sigh of relief, relieved he had already left.
But her relief didn't last long; the good mood she had just started to feel crumbled away.
