Since she was injured, naturally she could no longer wander around everywhere.
After lunch, Su Li took her laptop straight to the study.
Just as the computer booted up and before she could open a document, Wei Chengfeng slammed it shut with a smack.
"What are you doing?"
"Go rest. You're not allowed to touch the computer for ten days."
Su Li remained seated. Knowing he meant well, and not being ungrateful, she said in a negotiating tone, "I'm really fine now, I just had a check-up this morning."
Wei Chengfeng was unyielding. "But the doctor also said you need to rest quietly."
After saying this, he paused, then continued, "To avoid being called an unworthy husband, I need to watch over you properly."
Su Li had no choice but to get up, but looking at the walls filled with books, she said, "Can I pick a couple of books to read at least?"
"That's fine."
With permission, Su Li walked to the bookshelf and slowly picked out books she liked.
