"I think you lost them, Kazimir."
Speeding down the road, Kazimir checks his rearview mirror and nods.
"Better just keep it at this speed to be safe."
Sliding back down in the passenger seat, Xolani looks down at the machine gun beside her.
"Where'd you get this gun from? I thought they were banned here?"
"I have my ways."
Parking the car behind an abandoned old shed, Kazimir opens the door for Xolani and she shakes her head.
"This grass is too tall, like way too tall to walk in. There could be rattlesnakes and tarantulas a-and ro–"
Picking up the young woman and the machine gun, he carries them all inside, placing them down gently.
"Now, some of the Feds will be here sooner or later and when they arrive, I want you to stay ducked behind this table. Okay?"
"Why can't I help?"
"I don't think you're experienced enough."
"There's like 15 units out for us!" Xolani says, peeking through a broken window.
"There's actually 8."
"That's still a lot!"
"Speak of the devil. Two of the bastards already showed up. Go duck, Xolani."
Picking up the other machine gun from the floor, the young woman plops down beside him.
"What're you doing?!"
"What if you miss and get us both killed?"
"Miss? Trust me, I'm not doing that. Hurry and hide."
Hitting the man's shoulder, she shakes her head.
"I'm not going, Kazimir. As a matter of fact, why don't you hide?"
"I'm not hiding because I know how to precisely kill these people, armed or unarmed. You're the one who is new."
Xolani raises her brows in surprise.
"And what's that supposed to mean? You saw what I did with the other man just now, right?"
"That's because he didn't have a gun." Kazimir replies with a groan. "These ones do."
"And I know how to take them down. I do. If you can't do so from up close, then maybe you shouldn't be sitting here."
The young detective turns to her, his eyes turning a darker red.
"Alright, stay here then. When they come out the car and look around, you take the second one and I'll take the first. Aim for vital parts, too. But if you fuck up, I'm never letting you live it down."
She nods and places the scope up to her right eye.
"Right back at ya."
With a click of his tongue, Kazimir adjusts the gun in his hands.
"So you somehow know how to take down armed officers yet can't walk through tall grass?"
"That's because little creatures are hiding and can quickly crawl all over you. There's a big difference. What if they crawl somewhere vital and they're so small that you'll never be able to get them out and then you'll wind up with disgusting diseases?!"
"Just go to the hospital, what the hell?" the young man says, chuckling.
Hearing a car door slam, the two detectives lower their heads as they watch two police officers meet up with each other.
BANG!
BRRRRTTT!
Watching the two men drop down to the ground, Kazimir and Xolani give each other a high five.
"I told you that I could've handled it by myself."
"Well technically, their guns weren't drawn and they weren't firing back, either."
The young woman groans and crosses her arms, rolling her eyes at Kazimir.
"Ugh!"
"Anyway, care to explain why you killed Mr. 4 Hours?"
Looking over at Kazimir reloading her gun, Xolani falls silent and turns forward.
"You don't have to say anything if it's too much."
"That man was one of the officers who told me that people die everyday and I needed to calm down. I HATE HIM AND I WANNA BURN HIS BODY, TOO! I HATE HIM, I HATE HIM, I HATE HIM!"
Placing her gun down to his side of the floor, he gives her a hug.
"Look at it this way; you proved his statement to be correct. Now he gets to deal with your brother."
"I DON'T CARE! I WANT THAT PIECE OF SHIT TO COME BACK TO LIFE SO I CAN KILL HIM OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!"
Smirking, Kazimir pats her shoulder.
"What do you think the rest of these officers on planet Earth are here for? Ponder on this, when one officer is gone, there's always going to be another motherfucker to take his place. Xolani, you can't just stop at him; you need to go through every single one of these bastards. They're just as horrible as him, they don't care about us as detectives and especially not as citizens."
Xolani gives Kazimir a weird look.
"Are you trying to say that I should kill other officers?"
"It won't just be you, it'll be me as well. Just the two of us wrecking havoc on every department we come across."
He watches as her eyes grow completely wide and she puts a hand over her mouth.
"W-wait a second, you're him. You're the one who's been killing all of those officers that the department is searching for."
"Xolani, please listen to me. Those guys aren't our friends; that department is more corrupt than countries with dictatorships." Kazimir sliding closer to her. "I can't get this through anyone else's head because people tend to ignore that and always want to see the good in others. You have to believe me when I say that department is no good for the city. They sweep everything under the rug unless they're getting paid high amounts of money, they arrest whoever and whenever just to have a suspect, even if the person is innocent. When we head back, I'll show you some cases I'm talking about."
After thinking about it for a few seconds, Xolani tilts her head.
"Okay, I'll join you on one condition that is."
"What is it?"
"If we're caught, you have to take all the blame."
"You didn't need to make that a condition, I already was planning to."
He gently taps her shoulder to let her know about the other 6 officers coming down the street.
"However, we won't get caught. I'll make sure of that."
Before she could pick up her gun, Xolani watches as all six responding officers quickly step out of their cars with their guns drawn.
"Ha, they're pissed now. Listen, turn your body from the side and then shoot. That way if they return fire from the position they're in now, you'll have a lesser chance of getting hit."
Turning her body to the side she adjusts the scope on her weapon, before nodding.
"I'm ready."
"THIS IS THE CLAIZA CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT! WE HAVE THE BUILDING SURROUND—
Gunshots rang throughout the air, bullets tearing away at the bodies of some of the officers.
"Ow!"
Quickly shooting the remaining two men in the neck, Kazimir places his gun down and takes a look at Xolani's arm.
Taking off his shirt, he quickly wraps it around her arm, before picking her and the machine guns up.
"I feel like my arm is literally on fire."
"I knew I should've told you to sit that one out. I knew I should've."
Placing her in the car, he closes the door and places the machine guns into his trunk before jumping in the driver's seat.
"You handled the officers you did kill, perfectly. I'm very proud of you."

"Where's Mr. Kazimir?"
Feeding Satsujin some mushed peas and carrots, Nia shakes her head.
"I have no idea, Khristina. He hasn't answered the calls I've been making to him–
The sound of the front door opening interrupts her and Khristina quickly runs into the foyer.
"MR. KAZIMIR'S HOME!"
With a small smile, Kazimir opens his arms as the little girl gives him a hug.
"How's my little sunshine doing today?"
"Good! We learned about different types of clouds today!"
"Ah, I remember learning about the different clouds, too. What's that big one called again?"
Making his way into the dining room, he watches as Nia cleans up the food around Satsujin's mouth.
"Hello, Kazimir. I just wanted to let you know that I've had a security system installed into my house as well as cameras in the front and back."
The young man raises a brow.
"So that means…
"Yes, I'm moving back into my own house. As much as I like it here, I just really do need my own space for a while."
"But what if the people who's been targeting you comes back?! What if they get around the system and hurt you?!"
"Kazimir, I promise; I'll be okay. My bags are already in my car so I'll be leaving tonight."
"No, no moving back in tonight will be too dangerous. You should go ahead right now while there's still a little bit of sunlight left."
She shrugs and smiles.
"I just wanted to spend a little more time with the baby. He has quite an appetite, you know."
Giving him a hug, Nia thanks him for the hospitality before walking out of the front door.
"What's for dinner, Mr. Kazimir?"
Looking down at Khristina, he smiles.
"Why don't you choose something for me to make?"
