Qiao Nian had just woken up, her eyes still filled with anger. She had been woken up by Jiang Li's call. She hadn't slept well last night, so she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head upon being woken up in the morning.
"Hello." Qiao Nian pulled out the chair beside the desk and sat down. As it was a call from Jiang Li, her attitude was quite good. At least she didn't blame him for waking her.
"Nian Nian…" Jiang Li found it difficult to speak.
Qiao Nian sat there patiently with her arm propped up on her elbow. Seeing the water bottle from the corner of her eye, she clutched the phone to her ear, reached for the bottle, and unscrewed the cap. She tilted her head back and gulped down a mouthful of water, finally moistening her dry throat. "You wanted to see me?"
The girl's voice sounded much brighter. At least, it did not sound dry and hoarse.
