Rout let Fritz and Newt read what was written on the paper before he crumpled and threw it in the wooden trash bin. It was Newt's turn to ask. He wrote down his question and gave the pen and the piece of paper to Amara.
"Lady Amara, why is telling the town's secrets to outsiders prohibited? Is
it to prevent outsiders from getting away by the time the demi-human kids wake up?"
"That is one reason. The other reason is the parents of the kids want their children to encounter outsiders at night and fight for real combat experience. If outsiders know of the secrets, they won't go out at night and just stay inside their house since the demi-human kids do not attack people if they are inside their homes. It is also one of the rules."
Fritz's question turned out to be short, but there were two of them.
"When did such events start? Also, won't the authorities know of the death incidents?"
