After the recruitment speech, Ryan was able to recruit many willing men who volunteered their lives to serve their kingdom with pride and courage.
This day would mark the beginning to an era of knights.
Fearless battle ready warriors.
Ryan would come out of the armory wearing a new gleaming set of golden knight armor and stands there holding his helmet to his side in front of all the volunteers.
The king and queen can be seen in the distance outside of their castle at their front door staircase, watching from a distance in approval.
Ryan would shout out to everyone "With these new sets of armor and strength in numbers. We will overpower them!"
Only the men were deemed capable and worthy of wielding a blade in their hands to fight.
This was sure to change though.
The next day came by quickly, Katheline was determined to change their minds about women everywhere.
Early morning she headed outside to the battle colosseum, picked up the sword off the ground and trained for hours by herself.
Finally, all these men had started to become flooding in through the entrance and laughed at her in secret. Some even making fun of her stance and small stature.
Soon enough Ryan himself entered the colosseum shortly after everyone else, he looked around with a tense look on his face before realizing there was a woman in the arena.
This threw him off guard, a girl being deemed worthy of combat was unheard of for countless years because of their traditions.
Ryan approached Katheline, folding his arms together comfortably and looked down at her asking "What is this?"
Katheline got on one knee in the sand, respectfully looking up at him saying "Sir. I believe I can help out.."
Ryan questioned her further, saying "You think huh? Tell you what.. I'll make an exception for you. But don't be surprised if you end up under the ground. Hmph." he scoffed at her.
Katheline nodded to his statement.
A minute later, everyone was grouped in pairs to do friendly sparring sessions.
The guy who was paired up with Katheline would taunt her saying "Ladies first." and chuckles at her.
Not paying attention, she used this moment to quickly sweep his feet with a kick, making him fall to the sand and aims the sword to his face.
Only then some men began to notice this fierce passion in her.
It even caught the attention of Ryan, this pleased him to see she's making progress.
They had trained all day until the afternoon when the sun had started to drop past the horizon.
Everyone was starting to leave the colosseum with heavy feet and sweaty bodies. Katheline was suddenly stopped in her tracks by Ryan at the entrance, saying "Not bad lady.." with a gentle chuckle.
Katheline would say in exhaustion "You won't regret this. I promise my word. I'm not going anywhere."
Ryan just pleasantly nodded at her in silence, watching her as she walked away. He was known to be a man of not many words but a nod from him could easily mean a thousand.
