After riding our horses at full speed for about an hour we reach the town Kack told us about.
"Well this must be it...We got the rest of the day to find a stake out lets get to work." Dradik states while hoping off his horse allowing it to roam and rest.
We all nod and do the same so we can stake out the town and make a plan. Thankfully this town is decently small. The meeting area Kack spoke about is in the center of town its like a giant picnic area with a giant stage on the far side. There are several round tables perfectly decorated with white cloth over it, silverware and glass plates with roses decorating and setting a theme for the whole area. Dark wooden seats surround each table, pebbles lined up perfectly to create pathways to each table as well as to the stage. Large steel fences covered in shrubbery, that has also been decorated with roses, surrounds the area creating only one entrance to the entire thing. A lovely place really sad it getting blown up. Thankfully Tall and short buildings surround the area so we have our pick of a stake out to be.
"So how are we going to get in? There's no safe place for me to hide or escape." I ask the group hoping for ideas.
Everyone stands in silence looking at the area thinking.
"Didn't we pass an armory on the way in?" Dradik asks.
"Yeah I was actually thinking about checking it out before we can't." Elric states pointing his thumb behind him.
"I got an idea. Jade do you think you can make yourself look...important?" Dradik looks at Jade.
"Excuse me? Trying to say something fat man! I'll cu-" Jade gets angry.
"Shut it Jade can you do it?" Dradik cuts her off threateningly.
"Of course I can..." Jade rolls her eyes.
"Okay Nylin and Elric come with me, the rest of you scale that building I want a clear view of the whole area. I can cast feather falling freely so I'm not concerned about us needing to jump off it later." Dradik points to a tall abandon building on the east side of the gathering area.
We all nod and split up. Elric and I follow Dradik concerned as to what he has in mind.
"Alright so this is either going to be a really dumb idea or a good one but I want you two to pick out new armor Preferably dark leather armor. I want you both to look like Jade's body guards. We all know she's the most ill-mannered one of us all. She's got the best chance of getting in without an invitation of some kind. You'll wanna cover up as much as you can and try to match. And Nylin, the legion praises the sight of strong beautiful women. They believe that only a women can rule this world. I guess it's because women go through child birth and they can bleed for seven days without dying. So show your face a little be seductive without doing anything...You know?" Dradik awkwardly looks at me.
"Excuse me?" I look at him annoyed and concerned at the same time.
"I think he means...What have I heard travelers call it...Resting bitch face. I think thats it! Women just look pissed off all the time. Look like that. Drives men crazy guaranteed, Excalibur agrees if that helps." Elric chuckles.
I cross my arms annoyed that I'm being sexualized now.
"whatever." I roll my eyes.
Elric blushes slightly while Dradik smiles.
"It comes natural to you I see. I'm glad I won't have to worry about you blowing it now." Dradik chuckles approaching the armor shop.
I huff annoyed with their responses and walk inside to look at all the gear. I hear Dradik mumble something under his breath after smacking Elric on the back, making him immediately turn to face a rack of armor. After searching for armor that allowed Elric and I to match almost perfectly we headed back to meet with the others and discus the plan. We reach the abandon building and start climbing the barely useable stairs that remain inside. Once we reach the top floor we find a makeshift hole in the ceiling with a rope hanging from it. The others took the lazy way as well. Once a top the roof we find everyone else huddled in a circle eating their rations.
"Welcome to the party. All is still quiet in town but my outfit is done. Is this important enough for you?" Jade welcomes us with a sarcastic remark shot at Dradik while she holds up a red dress that I can barely make out from behind Elric.
"That's fine here's the plan." Dradik pushes aside the dress in her hands so he can sit. Elric and i join in.
"Jade your going to pose as a royal empress of...uhhh....Taoul di Brenztcheeni. Yeah that'll do...Nylin and Elric are going to pose as your body guards. Jade I want you to be your usual aggressive self to force your way into that gathering with your body guards. In order to get out you'll have to make up some excuse to leave. I don't know what this gathering is about so get intel to help you make something up. The legion value women so it can't be too hard."
"Why to I have to take the elf and the half point?" Jade grumbles pouting probably offended that no one complemented her dress.
"Because your the only three species that have points to your ears in this party! Get over your damn ego Jade!" Dradik thumps Jade in the forhead causing the rest of us to laugh.
Jade rubs her head annoyed. "Fine! I'll go with the plan."
We all laugh while she pouts. Before we know it, it's time to get some rest before nakit. We all have to be up at dian so we can scout the area once more before the gathering starts.
