In two hours, we successfully tried out six sex positions and used a total of four condoms before collapsing in exhaustion, all sweaty and tangled.
"Damn,"
"Damn," I repeated weakly, sore all over. He sensed this and rubbed at my arms. "So sorry baby, think I went hard enough."
"Nonsense. You did great." I said and meant it.
"You're so perfect."
"Yeah, but for how long?" I asked, insecurity caving in. How long till Fray decides I'm no more right for him and go in search of someone else. It's all in the movies, and it'd happened to a good number of people I've known in real life. "For how long till your love wears off?"
"Baby — "
"I just need you to be monogamous. I need you to love me and only me. No one should come in between us." I tried to ignore the vibrant tears streaming down my face. I don't deserve a heartbreak. I don't deserve one at all.
He draped his arms around my waist. "Darling, I promise you from this day onwards, I'd never cheat on you. Yes, there are plenty of good looking people out there but none's as special as you are."
"What about your modelling?"
"What's up with it?" he asked curiously.
"You do meet a lot of people every day and one of them may lure you into having an affair. A scandal could break out...look, I'm not asking you to give up on your job — "
"Michael?" he narrowed his eyes at me.
I squirmed in his arms. "Yes?"
"What is it you're trying to say?"
I bit my bottom lip, hesitant. "Now that we're secretly an item, I was wondering if you could stay with me more, back home in Forks, no more travelling. But it sounds so selfish of me asking you to give up your passions. I'm not that greedy."
"Mikey? It is done," he said seriously.
"Really? How?"
"When we arrive in Los Angeles, I'll break up the contract with my manager and we'll head back home together. Thankfully, he's a very understanding man. We'll have no problems now." he smiled and pressed a kiss to my forehead while I just watched him, dumbfounded. Who the heck is this guy and what good deed did I do to deserve him?
"You're so sweet."
"And you're sweeter. Let's get dressed it's almost dawn."
"Ugh, critters! I didn't even close an eye. Can't we stay back a little longer?" I curled up to his chest, closing my eyelids.
He chuckled. "And miss our flight? Never."
We both took turns with the showers and helped each other dress. It felt so natural, how we were caring for each other like we'd always been together. I hoped we'd always stay like that. Together, we stood at the window, watching the still night and sky overhead with a kind of new thrill. Fray had his arms around me and was continuously nuzzling my neck. He was so free and there was this spark around him I might have caused. It made it so much easier to fall asleep and wake up next to each other, beaming and fresh for the new day.
"Attention everyone! We're gradually approaching the marvellous city of Los Angeles and I'd advise you all to have your belts on. It's been such a tiring journey and the management hopes you all get to your various destinations safely. Good day everyone."
I had my head on Fray's chest, feeling a deep rumble at my feet as the plane touched the runway. Fray toyed with my curls as the plane came to a complete halt. We all stretched and shook hands, disembarking immediately. "We've still got a few hours till the shoot. I suggest we find Wesley quickly to be in time for our flight back home." We both held hands out of the airport and into a cab. "When back, we'd spend the entire night in your room or you could move in with me if you want."
"That'd be lovely. But do you think our families would object? You know my Mom doesn't like you that much."
"Well that's bad luck for her cause I'm here to stay. I don't care what they think about this or us. We're grownups who are capable of managing our affairs," he gave my hand a small squeeze. "Try not to think about it so much."
"You know I'm not comfortable with keeping it a secret from them. Whatever we have should be established publicly."
"Yes I know but now's not the right time. We can tell your parents and a few others but not the entire public yet. Not with all these gossips in vogue. I don't want any social or socio-political organization questioning our relationship." I nodded, eyes stinging with tears as he kissed the back of my palm.
"I like how we went from zero to sixty all of a sudden." the cab screeched to a stop and we got out. "Makes everything seem like magic. Something I'd never thought possible." I let the tears roll down my cheeks. It made this feel so real. Fray gently wiped them off. "Cheer up, I'm all in with you."
"I love you, Fray Williams."
He smiled. "I love you more Michael Lowell."
"I love you most Fray Williams," I closed the distance between our lips.
