The day hadn't ended yet, yet Tasha already felt like she was going to die of hunger. Lucas only made a rule against coming down 'early' in the morning and didn't include when to come out during the afternoons and nights, and unfortunately she didn't remember to ask either. Fortunately for her she didn't run into him throughout the last few days or things would have turned ugly.
When her stomach grumbled in protest again, she almost let out a cry as she felt like she was about to die. Enduring the pain, she found the courage to stand up and open the door, then poked her head out a little to see if she could find any traces of him in the hallway.
Although she didn't know which room he stayed in, she was very sure that it must be very far from hers as she was well aware of how much he hated her, and she could also proudly say that she felt the same. When she looked around for a while and didn't see him in sight, she sneakily stepped out and shut the door quietly before tiptoeing down the stairs and to the kitchen.
He wasn't in the living room either, she heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that and was about to proceed to the kitchen when she tripped and bumped into something, presumably a wall.
'Ouch' she moaned as she rubbed her head that now hurts, mentally chiding herself for being clumsy. 'It is that idiot's fault' she was quick to blame Lucas, yes if he hadn't made a fuss over her being in the kitchen earlier, she wouldn't have been so afraid to come down and end up tripping.
When she looked up and saw what she had bumped into, she became extremely shocked, and her mouth parted widely, like she had just seen a ghost. Standing in his glory, was Lucas, right in front of her face and judging by the frown on his face that he didn't even bother to hide, she could tell that he was extremely displeased.
Drip drip drip, Tasha could feel a liquid substance dripping from her body and she looked down, only to find out the content of the cup he was holding had spilled on her shirt.
Her shirt was now stained a brown like color and stuck to her body like glue. Seeing her nipples that were poking out through her shirt, she suddenly regretted her decision to not put on a bra. How she wished she could dig a hole and bury herself in it.
Adding the fact that Lucas might have seen it too, Tasha's face burned, and she instinctively covered her chest with one hand before raising the other accusingly.
'Y yy you youu pervert! ' She yelled, at a loss of what to say before glaring at him.
Lucas, as if he didn't have an inkling of what was going on only, stared at her calmly for a minute before turning to walk away. If Tasha's expression earlier was considered as 'mad' then, now she was 'fuming mad'.
She completely ignored the fact that she had bumped into him first and was now furious over his unapologetic attitude. So what if she had bumped into him first? He should have at least apologized like a gentleman and claim he didn't see anything or even be embarrassed. But that unbothered look on his face? There was no way she could take it lying down.
Tasha had always been violent since she was young. During her high school days, she was known as 'The notorious T'. Back then, she would beat up whoever crosses her path or tries to gossip about her, no matter whether they were seniors or Juniors. Her bones always itched to fight,, and she always looked for students to take it out on. In fact, she was the type that would provoke someone, then beat the person up if he or she tries to retaliate.
Lucas' nonchalant attitude had awoken the beast in her and without even thinking, she raised her leg, and sent a kick flying. Her feet landed on his butt, and it was only a matter of seconds before he fell on his face and the mug he was holding fell and rolled far away as the sound echoed throughout the room.
When Tasha realized the gravity of what she had just done, she didn't even have the time to feel smug as she cowered in fear. She knew she had acted too rashly,, but that was just the way she was wired. She preferred talking with her fist than her mouth, despite the fact that it had gotten her into trouble many times.
Now that she became cool headed, she couldn't help but stare at Lucas figure as he tried to get up, and she could tell judging by his physique, that he was one who exercised daily. She realized she was only able to take him down because he didn't have his guards up. What if he decides to kill her for what she had done?
She broke out in a cold sweat when their eyes met and with his gaze still locked on hers, he stood up gradually. She immediately wanted to break down in tears like she did in the past, but she knew he wasn't going to buy it this time around.
Furthermore, she clearly felt wronged though, he was at fault, so why was she the one getting scared? Why did she decide to come here to work? Living on the streets was far better than this prison like house.
When Lucas got to his feet, he glared at her with eyes that were almost smoking, if it wasn't for the fact that it was against his morals to hit girls, he would have strangled her to death right then and there.
He just couldn't wrap his head around the fact that such a thin and frail girl had landed a powerful kick on him, to the point that it made him lose his balance. Of course the reason why he fell was because he couldn't be bothered to have his guard up against such a thin and powerless girl, but it turned out he couldn't be any more wrong.
He stared at her calm and unwavering eyes for a while before sizing her up and down again. Despite realizing that the girl standing in front of him could not to be underestimated, he was still furious that she kicked him. His lips curled up as he thought of different ways to get revenge.
He figured out he necessarily didn't have to hit her to get revenge, he knew more than a thousand ways to curb her and show her who is boss. However, for now, he just shot her a final glare before turning to leave.
Tasha was shocked that he had actually left just like that, without uttering a single sentence. She sighed in relief and her hands that were clenched in nervousness before unclenched. Smiling, she walked ahead, but couldn't shake that nagging feeling that her days ahead wouldn't be so smooth off her head.
She had only spent a few days, yet she had shown her true colors. 'Argh where did the composure and manners Martha drilled into my head go!' she groaned as she headed to the kitchen. She decided she was still going to eat his food, and would just face the problem when it comes.
When she finished with her meal, she made sure to go to the store and moved cartons and cartons of chocolate and other junk foods to her room. She didn't know if it was considered as stealing, but she did remember seeing it in their terms and conditions that they were going to provide her with enough food and shelter, so she was just going to take it in advance alright?
She was moving the last box of cupcakes when she noticed the CCTV camera on top of her head! She looked up, and suddenly a thought struck her mind.
With a mischievous smile hanging on her lips, she dragged a chair from the dining to where the camera was and made sure to cover each with a plastic bag. When she was done, she smiled victoriously and hummed as she carried the last box to her room.
Meanwhile, Lucas who had been watching her all the while frowned, as he rubbed the spot she had hit earlier. His mind overflowing with different ways to get his revenge on her.
