Samuel
"When are you gonna cut the bullshit Sam?" JT asks. "You can't hide from Ro and Mako forever, you have to face them sooner or later. They're worried about you.. we all are."
"I can't face them ever again," I say, my tone cold as ice. "They hate me, they hate the monster that I am."
"You know this how?"
I whirl around, staring JT right in the eyes. Even with me heated and about to possibly swing, he's calm as can be. He always is.
"You assume that's the case Sam," he says. "You assume that seeing your true form disgusted and scared them, that's not at all what they've been telling me."
"What have they told you?" I ask. "Probably worse than that."
"They want to get closer to you," he says, his expression softening. "They know what you're going through, Roland's little brother is going through the same. They understand and want to help you in any way possible, you have to let them. When you lost control, they feared for your safety far more than their own. When you changed back but bolted into the woods and were gone for almost a week, neither one of them slept much, if at all, until you returned. You have them the cold shoulder, and that hurt them. It hurt them a lot."
I saw, I saw every hurt look they gave me, every word they wanted to say but decided not to, I saw it all. But never acknowledged that I did..
"You love to hurt them," my demons taunt. "You're a fucking freak that gets off on hurting others. You should die."
Shut up! Just shut up! Leave me alone!
I swear I can hear them laugh.. I'm going insane..
"Sammy?" JT asks, bringing me back to reality. "Are you okay? You seem distracted."
"I'm okay," I lie. "Just tired."
